From first owning the game, one thing I was looking forward to was obtaining the Opel (Vauxhall to me) Calibra Touring Car. After around 4 weeks I got the so called beast last night.

So the adrenalin was pumping when I entered the German Touring car Championship with my beloved Calibra, only to find when I approached that first bend i went gracefully sliding into the grass and gravel.

Arrrrgh...I expected this 'Touring Car' to go round corners as though it was on rails, I was distraught. :cry:

Has anyone got any settings/tips to get this wide boy to handle like a dream, or am i wasting my time. :confused:

4WD it is! 4WD handles it does not.

But it oversteers badly...I've had a quick rumage around in the archives here on the forum, some people say it sticks to the road like glue, some say it's crap. Whats going on??

Does it handle differently in other countries?, is it beacuse I have my PS2 sitting vertically on carpet without a stand?!! Maybe it's the British weather at the moment effecting it - too much moisture in the air?.

It's that Vauxhall badge.

Try shifting more drive to the front, and stiffening the front springs. See how you go from there.
 
I quite like the car, though I found you do need to adapt your driving style to suit it some what. I know lots of people hate it. Personally, I'm not that great at tuning cars to make them handle differently, so I just learn to drive each individual car the way that they need to be driven. The Astra touring car is much easier to drive.
 
How do you turn?? I know some people turn with the accelerator to the floor. You need to shift a lot of weight to the front of high power 4WD cars to get them to turn. Which means slow turns. There are plenty of other things too. Front camber helps alot. Somewhere around 3.0 is good. And toe helps too. Try differnent settings to see which ones you like best.
 
Go to gtvault.com, you should find settings there. ;)
 
Cheers - the trouble is for the last 5 days i've been tearing around in my Polyphony Racing Car, and everything else is a little disappointing.

I like the calibra its awsome I just wish it had more speed.

:thumbsup: Hope it works! :) That's an awesome site to get settings (though I'm still yearning for someone to post Cobra settings...)

You might also want to try GT3 GameFAQs for some settings too (If you go to the top FAQ/Strategy guide on the page, then scroll down about half-way, there are some really good settings for some cars, though offhand I don't think they have the Calibra...)
