Be advised, I am NOT suggesting I am a great gamer, but I have immensely enjoyed Gran Turismo since I began playing it (GT-4 and GT-5) about 6 years ago. GT-4's B-Spec driver (there were not multiple drivers that you could select from as far as I know) was always a known quantity. Pretty fast, and steady. He obeyed.
With GT-5's driver(s) it seems as though they have a mind of their own. When driving a superior car, and when presented with opportunities to advance their position, they often do everything BUT advance their position including running into the back of an opponents car, crashing their own car, slowing down, etc. I realize that the player needs to watch his driver's "temperature", and his strength and mental strength, but I never would have imagined that drivers who'd reached level 32 and beyond could drive like such assholes.
I would like ANY feedback on this. (I am at the point where I am honestly thinking about firing all 6 of my drivers and then spending a month working another 6 up to the levels needed to run the rest of the endurance races including the Sarthe and Nurburgring 24 hour events.

They adapt as they go. I think.

Example being: If you get a driver used to driving a FR car, he'll get better and better. If you then suddenly put him into a FR car with no practice then he may struggle. I generally have 1 driver per class.....

Nope they don't adapt to the car they adapt to the race situation.
If they are leeding they slow down to save tyres and fuel.

Once you pick your stats for the driver they are on a preset course to the end of their driving days and get a job doing race commentary

Also because B-spec has remote racing and multi drivers of different skill levels YOU are required to learn HOW B-spec drivers AI works as the team manager/owner.

This means learning the hard way that the car means nothing to how the driver increases skill.
Learning that driving challenging tracks does not increase cornering skill.
Learning that your driver gets knackered when energy bars are ZERO and knackers his tyres quicker as he goes too fast in to corners and power drifts the corners.

B-spec in GT4 was a part time driver to replace you.
B-spec in GT5 has AI that adjusts to the stats you pick at the start and if you pick random drivers with out looking you will get some duds...
B-spec has a stand alone mode and a community Cash generating mode for all to share. The AI in the online mode will reflect the stats you choose and Win if you pick the correct stats for the driver. this mode shows if you picked the right drivers or if you get crushed because you friends did..

B-spec gets hard When Driver level and car specs match the AI.
Nascar and FGT Prove this as bob has the same skills as the AI its racing at the same level. and 100s of post show up asking...
Q = how to win both.
A1 = CHEAT Increase bobs level to above the AI buy about 5 - 10(depends on bobs skills) and its a walk in the park.... or
A2 = Tune the car for your bobs advantage...

simples...

I actually meant adapt across the board. Was using car as an example.

But yeah, we'll go with your explanation.
