What does everybody think of PD's decision to increase the prize money until the end of January? It's cleary offered with good intentions but I don't really like that the game suddenly gets easier. It's the fact that it's a temporary offer that doesn't make sense to me. I would maybe understand it if the change was permanent because PD realised that players were grinding too much to make progress. But why temporary then?

I think it's temporary because they are trying to work out some other way of addressing the xp and money issues that is possibly a bit more complex and can't just be patched in quickly.

We'll see, but to offer the extra cash is almost admitting that there is some sort of problem with the game as it stands; to then revert back to normal cash in January without any other fix on the horizon would seem a little odd; so I expect they'll do something.

Well, it's not like they increased the prize money to insane levels - if you're saving up several million to buy an exotic race car, it amounts to shaving a few races from your grinding efforts.

Maybe they'll change the pricing for some of the cars.

My opinion is I dont care.

How do you mean the game got "easier"? It's still the same game but with a slightly increased money payout after winning a race. The increase is maybe in the 20,000 to 30,000 range which doesn't even pay for a set of racing tires. When I play GT games I always have a full garage with all sorts of cars, multiple copies of cars so I can have one stock and one with the weight reduction/engine work done that can't be undone. I have lots of different sets of tires and parts so this takes a TON of money and with this lower money payout change PD made the game just not as much fun now. I'm spending more time grinding for cash than anything. I've never done that in a GT game before! :yuck:

I'm finally getting to a point where I've got the amount of cars I want and stuff but I wish they'd double the payout of races. There is no reason to make it harder to earn cash in GT. If GT had a full fledged "career" mode with real race seasons like WRC/F1/Touring Car stuff I wouldn't spend a minute complaining about it! :) It's just these limited A-Spec races w/ little money payout are getting on my nerve. There's just a massive lack of single player content that directly affects the economy of the game.

They should make the XP turn to money once you are lvl40, and increase the money in endurance by ten folds, it should average a million per hour, the goal is to have fun and buy a lot of cars and parts.

I like it. The increase in money is enough to put a smile on your face, but not really enough to alter the game. Like others have said, if you're saving up for an expensive car, it shaves a few races off the number you need to grind.

I didn't read anything into it - call me naive, but I just thought it was something nice for the holidays. I'm happy with it.

Decided to visit these forums after a few weeks break and people are still complaining about ridiculous issues. Don't get me wrong, mate, but if you think that it gets too easy then don't play it till the end of January.

Now back to F1 2010!

It does not make the game easier, just less of a painful grind. Hopefully this is the first step towards a better GT5.

It would be great if they could expand the lifetime of the singleplayer mode somehow. Maybe new game modes, more special events and A-Spec races. Just to make it less repetitive earning money. Seasonal events and online play is a good argument against that though.

I don't know if it's admitting they were wrong. It's like a dad giving their kids allowance. Is he admitting you were a mistake? Or is he just being nice for the holidays?

I'm just kidding of course. But I'm at a point where I'm gonna grind anyways, so it's just nice. It makes the progress easier, but it doesn't make driving easier.

I think it will help people getting the game for christmas.

A good example of the increase :

The award for the lvl 24 championship (dream cars) You get 540k instead of 350k.

You do that championship 2-3 times and you get to 2-3millions easily.

You should make a poll with lvl range 0-5 6-10 11-15 or smthing like that

lol the prize money is a joke...for endurance races its not worth talking about
