With the dominance of Roger Federer on the ATP Tour, and his 4th consecutive win at Wimbledon just a short time ago, I've pondered this 'hypothetical' thought for awhile now, which is:

On Centre Court at the All England Club (Wimbledon), who would this match?

Roger Federer, which I think it's safe to say he's at the top of his game and why he's been #1 for a few years now.

vs

Pete Sampras, in his prime, when he was at the top of his game and held the #1 position for 6 years.

Though I would say Pete Sampras, only because he had his great serve and a wicket forehand, I'm leaning towards actually saying "Roger Federer" would win, just because I believe Roger has a better 'all-around game'.

Yet, personally, I still can't rule out Pete and his 'will-power/desire to win', which was evident way back in 95', during the quarter-finals in the Australian Open, I believe, when he was informed that this long time coach, Tim Gullickson, was diagnosed with some type of cancer, and while playing against Jim Courier, actually broke down in tears...but still managed to go and win that particular match...though he would later succumb to Agassi in the finals.

So, for all those 'tennis buffs' out there, let's hear your thoughts/opinions.

Thanks,

Thread bump, sorry if you didn't any replies of late.I think most people here are not really interested in sports. But i'm not a total "tennis buffs" if you were saying. My moms the tennis buff here, but sometimes i would watch it as well.So like my opinion is,Roger Federer is one of the most dominating tennis player out there but i think someone is going to beat him sooner or later.Rafael Nadal has already beaten him at Roland Garros this year (but i know Federer is not a good clay court player) and met again at Wimbledon although he lost. But i think he has a bright future ahead of him......
