EDIT:

So I'm still waiting to hear back from Logitech, though I'm not incredibly optimistic at this point. I'd been thinking about getting a new wheel for a while and I guess it might just be time to do that.

As much as I would love to get a T500RS I simply have too many other expensive hobbies to justify it right now...I'm looking at the G27 and the Fanatec CSR bundles and I'm just not really sure what to think of anything.

It'd be nice to have the Forza compatibility (though I'm guessing there's no hope for xbone use) and higher build quality, but I'm also concerned the CSR will be more cumbersome to use on a console and difficult to mount up to the wheelstand I have currently. I have no idea how I'd go about mounting the shifter either. Also sort of bothers me that the steering wheel isn't round, I do a lot of drifting and tend to prefer street cars over racecars in general.

All that said, however, it just looks like such a step up from the G27...unfortunately I haven't had any opportunities to use a wheel other than my own DFGT so I can't say for certain.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

So I was playing GT6 today and everything was going fine, I've had this wheel for years and it's never given me the slightest problem. I was doing a little drifting but not being particularly hard on the wheel, I used FFB set to 3 or 4 with power assist. After pausing and restarting on one attempt the wheel just freaked out on me, I'll copy in my email to logitech for a more detailed explanation.

While playing Gran Turismo 6 on my ps3 the wheel very abruptly began to behave oddly. Everything was fine until I paused the game, and then upon unpausing the resistance was increased a great deal and the wheel would no autocenter or provide force feedback. I attempted to reconnect it and restart the console so that it would recalibrate but it seems to be unable to do so. It makes a single faint click two times when it attempts to calibrate, and even when powered down it still has the increased resistance. The GT logo in the center of the horn button illuminates and then blinks on and off continuously.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I had been looking forward to playing GT6 with my steering wheel for some time now and for this to happen unprompted is pretty disappointing. The wheel did not exhibit any strange behavior whatsoever prior to this and was functioning perfectly up until the instant this happened.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm pretty disappointed as a friend who lives out of state was going to be around for the holidays and was looking forward to trying out the new game on my setup.
