Well, here's my first pic, didn't edit it at all, 100% original (except watermark).
I'll have many many more to come as I progress further in the game, considering I just got it 5 days ago (I know, I'm well behind you all). Honest opinions please.

I was gonna, but liked it a bit darker, on my tv atleast. Found it was tough to get a good night shot, thought this was good though.

The second shot is much better in terms of brightness, and a decent shot considering you have had the game such a short time (better than my early efforts).

A few tips I would suggest with regard to the second shot would be

The background is a bit to dominating for my taste, I would have used a smaller appeture to throw it out of focus. This would have made the car stand out a lot more.

So rather than having a clear background like this (f22)

You get a blurred background like this (f1.4)

With static shots they tend to look better if you turn the front wheels so that they can be seen. Not a rule, but I tend to do a number of shots with the wheels at different angles to see which looks best. Most of the time they look best when facing the camera.

So rather than just seeing the tyres like this

You get to see the wheel like this

I also tend to take a lot of shots from the same angle, using a range of settings, as how pics look on the TV is not always a good indication of how they will look on your PC screen.

Hope that helps, but as I said, for the time you've spent with the game its adamn fine start. Have a look around some of the stickied thread, you will find some good info and tips in them.

PS - come and have a look around my shots, any feedback or comments would be welcome.

Thanks for the replies. I hadn't even played around with the apperture yet when I took these, it was more just point and click. I got a nice one of an Elise I'm gonna post up in a minute on track with a blurred BG and I think it looks great.

I think the first picture was just fine, the darkness suits it. 👍

And then the marketing ;): visit my gallery (and please leave a comment) if you have time!

@ Scaff. Your advice is correct 👍 but the wording isn't. :sly:
f22 is considered by photographers to be a small aperture and 1.4 to be a large one.
The official notation would be 1/22 (0.04545) and 1/1.4 (0.71). However no-one uses that and its become f22 and f1.4.

To work out how big the 'hole' is you take the "length" of your lens and divide it by the apt number.
100 mm lens / f22 = 4.5mm opening
100 mm lens / f5.6 = 17.8mm opening
50 mm lens / f1.4 = 35.7mm opening
50 mm (Canon) / f1.0 = 50mm opening

Yeah I know technically my wording isn't correct, but I didn't want to confuse the issue.

Nice to know I'm not the only photographic nut on here.

Ya around the middle of the thread, my Elise pic is up. It's a dark night scene, what do you expect, lol. The pics were meant to be dark, but not incredibly dark.

I really REALLY like the second phototravel picture. Seems you got some good knowledge about composing the pictures....:)👍

Keep it up. The elise is a bit...normal...a bit lifeless. A bit more contrast would bring it to life:)👍

Keep it up!

I played around with it a bit but it made the car stand out too much, made the picture look too fake.
