Hi everyone
This weekend I did some research about the differences between the opponents settings in event mode.
Research method: I was starting different races in the 4 difficult settings in event mode (easy, medium, hard and professional). As soon as the race starts I was driving my own car off the track so I was not in the way for the other cars. Then I let the other cars finish the race and checked the winning time. I did repeat each race twice (to avoid statistical errors) and then switched to the next difficulty setting. After 6 different events (that makes 48 different races!) I came to this conclusion:
Average differences between the opponents settings:
Easy opponents: 100% race time
Medium opponents: 94 %
Hard opponents: 85 %
Professional opponents: 78 %
That was done on 6 different tracks using very different cars (from the Punto Evo-event to a Peugeot R1-event). Of course there are some differences from track to track and car to car, but never more than 2 % up or down for each setting. So I would say this is a good average figure to see the differences between the AI settings.
By the way: It is also possible to check the differences between the difficulty settings on the "track days" and "autocross" challenges in event mode. And much easier because you dont have to race the game.
Here I found the following figures (again with several events):
Autocross (times to reach):
Easy: 100 %
Medium: 84 %
Hard: 74 %
Professional: 67 %
Track days (cars to overtake):
Easy: 100 %
Medium: 115 %
Hard: 124 %
Professional: 137 %
Maybe this information is useful for some of you.
