Opponents Level

Hi everybody,

I bought the japanese GT4 version some time ago and ever since I have been fighting against the language problem.

Until today I haven´t found out how and where to set the driving skills level of my opponents, I feel it is always easy to beat the machine but I am sure there must be a hard level where the other drivers are real racing drivers.

I really woul love to race against a skilled opposition and not just those weekend drivers and grandmothers ( I love my grandmother )

Who could help me out here?

It's not just a language problem. There is no real way to adjust the skill of the AI opponents. The bad AI driving is one of GT's biggest flaws - and I've heard interviews that suggest that they make the AI drivers bad on purpose, because of "certain markets". It must be the Japanese domestic videogamers market, because every person I've ever heard in English that is a car enthusiast complains about how stupidly the AI drives.

You can't so anything at all about the AI cars in simulation (GT) mode. In Arcade mode you have 10 "Difficulty" levels which affect what types of cars the AI enter. There seem to be about 5 tiers of cars, each of which is then set to drive at about 80% capacity for one level of difficulty, and then 100% capacity for a slightly harder difficulty.

Duke's right, as much as i hate it, there's no way to change the level of drivers in GT mode

But at least its fun to play mind games with them:crazy:

I remember moaning about the F1 cup and someone pipes up 'Try adding blah blah amounts of ballast and doing this and that to your gearbox set up' and then tell me it's easy.

...WHO'S GOING TO WANT TO DO THAT??

Why should you have to enter an impotent car just to feel a challenge? I want to drive a car to its limit and still feel tested, I don't need 7 million pounds of ballast making my F1 car accelerate like a Volvo, just so Mr. AI has some sort of chance of keeping up with me, and the worst thing is - I'm not even that great.

GT should be banned from using the word simulator!

👍 Absolutely! This game is about as far away from a driving simulator as you can get. What I hate is that you aren't really racing a car so much as tricking and manipulating the program. I'm not sure but I think Mario Cart might be a little more realistic in some respects.

The speed challenges are the only thing keeping the game in my machine... So many things, so wrong. :boggled:
