Since car customization is a long shot with only 3 months till the release of GT5 and still no word whatsoever of whether we will get a livery editor.

And then I remembered Kaz saying, back in early fall, that he wants players to feel more rewarded when car buying, and that he wanted cars in Gran Turismo to be more personal to that buyer as well, as if every car was exclusive.

This made me think PD may include a real life optional extras list for each car in the game. You would probably be able to pick anything from the below list.

1. Color
2. Rims
3. Brake package
4. Interior color
5. Interior material
6. Window tint
7. Flappy paddle or stick (not that this matters)
8. Left or right hand drive
9. The dash display, KPH or MPH
10. Spoiler
etc.

Any other suggestions?

L or H is really hard. dash display too, you would need both versions of the car to scan. flappy paddle also. interior color and exterior is probably possible, and rims too IMO. brake package i hope. Plus i hope they can give us OEM spoiler options like the IS350-250 which really needs that OEM spoiler to look good

I want a full tank and car mats, oh and one of those nice spray things that fit over the air vent please, thanks.

Maybe a GT pen too !!!!!!!

Just because we haven't heard anything, doesn't mean it's not in. ;)

I bet we hardly know anything about the game. The next couple months should be interesting. 👍

i think we'll get some optionals, in gt5 prologue and in the shows demos there are car names that indicate that they have an optional item, like here:

in the 6th position there is a mercedes SLR and after the name it says "(something i don't understand wheel option)"

Looks like it says "1 inch wheel option " lol.

or "1 mech wheel option"

I think it's (Black wheel option)... maybe the 722 edition wheel? I don't know if it's an optional in SLR :dunce:

Now we have interiors modelled, it would be cool to be able to choose from the official variants. However, as I'm a hoody when it comes to racing, it's not too high on the agenda. Being able to select from manufacturer rims and body trim would be sweet too.

On prolouge the latest impreza has the BBS 18' wheel option and the evo 10 has the premium package.

Those are the things I would like as options when buying, assuming the real cars have those options. At the very least the mph and km/h (again, assuming its an option in real life). Most the other stuff I'm happy to have as upgrades rather than options when buying.

To be honest, I really dont care about what my car looks like from the outside, I almost never see the outside of my car when racing except for a couple of seconds at the start and a couple at the end, and I rarely watch a replay unless I did something amazing or want to see where I'm not using the track properly.

I can't make it out so good but that would be cool. 👍 Imagine if PD included all of the options of every single road car :scared:. The licenses would be massive to include every single car. By the way instead of having a 722 wheel option we should have the 722 itself ! :dunce:

I think maybe optional wheels would be only handy thing as far as optional extras go. Doubt I'd make use of fluffy seat covers or a car fridge.

I'm thinking that once you buy the car, you could upgrade it farther with engine upgrades and other mechanical upgrades as we did in GT4.

The best optional upgrade would be a manufacture approved tuning part i.e.Brabus chip for certain mercedes, Prodrive Performance Pack for the Subaru impreza, Even just and optional sports exhaust like the one availiable on certain VXR Vauxhall's that is supposed to add an extra 15bhp as well as some more noise.

"wide wheel option"?

looks like it says mech. I even tried photoshoping it to see if I could get it any clearer but with no success. It looks to me like Mech but what the heck is Mech?

I can't figure it out either...'J Tech' maybe, but that doesn't make much sense either.

BUT...notice that it says '09 as the model year? This is somewhat unusual as it is most common in GT that the original model is included, not some slightly revised later model. So, maybe there will be more than one SLR included...? (I'm hoping Stirling Moss edition)

Get different trim levels for certain cars. It would be something like you have a normal Nissan Skyline GTR, but it would be where you could pick between the standard car, the N1, the M-spec Nur, V-spec, etc...

Would definetly cut down on the complaint about there being 100 versions of one car.
