When i took out my contract with Orange for my W800i back in November i was under the impression that i had 300 minutes and 3000 weekend call minutes for the first six months and 200 minutes and 2000 weekend call minutes for the last six months.

Upon entering the 7th month i called Orange and asked them the status of my contract and they replied saying i just have 300 minutes and it will remain like that for the duration of the contract unless i change my tariff.

This is obviously different from the 200 minutes and 2000 weekend call minutes i was expecting at a lower cost to me.

Orange tell me Phones4U are in the wrong for giving me dodgy information but i get thrown around in circles when i go to Phones4U.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or can anyone give me some advice?

For now i have reduced my tariff to just 200 X-Net minutes.

Do you have a copy of a contract that you should have got from phones 4U? It's a damn pity this didn't happen a couple of months ago (a pity as in I could have been far, far more helpfull) because I work for Caudwell communications who until a couple of months ago were part of the same group as Phones 4U, but we have nothing to do with each other now since we were bought by Pipex.

What you can do, is really push Orange to honour that original agrement, at the end of the day, Orange won't lose out, any money they will lose they'll claw back from Phones 4U so at the end of the day, all Orange are trying to aviod is the bother of having to go through that process. Orange may not be at fault, but they can still honour your contract.

Another peice of advice, whenever your after an upgrade for a phone and ou upgrade directly with the network, don't ring up upgrades, ring up cancelations.

That's good advice, my dad got a W900i from Vodafone for free by doing that.

Thanks for the advice L4S.
Orange say that the person who informed me of the contract at Phones4U, gave me false information on the second half of my contract. I have checked my contract details (hard-copy) and it only mentions the talk-time for the first 6 months, any information on the last six months is non-existant so i reckon i've been had. To make things worse the salesman who dealt with me at Phones4U has apparently left the company.

Orange said that they may increase my minute allocation or give me a token gift at the end of my contract for the hassle that has been caused, that was after i said i may cancel my contract.

Thanks again L4S.
