Ordered Fanatec Porsche 911 Carrera Wheel + Rennsport Wheel Stand V2 + Gran Turismo 5

Hey there.

I just ordered a Fanatec Carrera wheel and made this thread out of excitement and due to the long wait. :nervous:

I've been playing Gran Turismo 4 with a s.hitty plastic steering wheel (probably around the 35$, called a V3 Racing Wheel 2, and I'm probably the only person in the world to own it :lol:) but I've been having a good time with it nonetheless.
I had been speculating and awaiting Gran Turismo 5's release for months, but when it came out I promised myself to only get it with a new steering wheel so that the improvement from my GT4 experience to GT5 experience would be even larger than normally. Unfortunately, due to a busy Christmas, I only got to ordering a steering wheel now.

So I'm wondering; do you think that there's a big leap between GT4 and GT5? How about the leap between a controller (my steering wheel is worse than that) and a force feedback + clutch wheel?
Also could someone explain how exactly ForceFeedback is; I've tried doing some research on this, but unsuccessfully.

Last thing, anyone any tips or hints for me (in relation to the new steering unit)?

It should be a huge leap from GT4 to GT5. The physics are much more advanced as well as the graphics. You may be disapointed with the lack of events compared to GT4 but Seasonals and Online help to make up for it. You are getting it at a good time because of all the improvements through updates and new events with a lot or credits to earn.

I don't know anything about your wheel but I assume this too will be a huge improvement over the previous wheel. Wheels really take the game to a whole new level. Enjoy.👍
