Hello I am young DIYer from Australia and am currently undertaking a project and building an OSW to show the guys that are intimidated by building their own.

I personally do not own any sim gear or even a computer that could run any simulators. I am 100% doing to hopefully inspire some people to build their own that are borderline but are sort of intimidated

Thanks for reading and if you have any questions leave them below!

Open Sim Wheel. It's an open source project of a direct drive wheel setup. Like accuforce or vodnar but diy. You can find people seeking preassembled kits already. DD wheels are the future of sim racing.

What parts are you putting together like motor etc.?
I don't plan to build my own just curious. Most likely will buy some prebuilt kit in near future.

MiGe 130ST-M10010 is being shipped atm and I'm waiting on a release date from Granite Devices on their SIMCUBE depending on that I might pick up a SIMCUBE or just an IONICUBE

Will be watching this thread, cautiously optimistic. Please make sure and include pricing and source of parts when you can, so we can have not only an idea of how to do it, but where to get the parts and how much we should budget. Thanks

Will be looking forward to this as well.

Always been interested in OSW/DD wheels. I've been on the fence for some time.

The most difficult question for me is "enjoyment" divided by cost. Everyone is going to have a different opinion to this I guess. I wish someone with an OSW lived in Sydney so I can try it ;)

Swiftwilly,
Ben Darley Jnr is the man you seek, (look him up on iRacing forum, Youtube or just Google his name + OSW DD). Talk to him; he's in Sydney and will let you try his out; and offer to build you one at a reasonable rate (not the cheapest but fair)... I just talked over the phone (never took him up on his demo offer) and am in the proccess of saving the $2k+
Cheers Carl
