Over 19.8 million credits for a standard vehicle..., seriously PD.?.? I don't care how rare the bugger is.., but over 19.8 million credits for a standard vehicle with lower graphics., no interior cams, ect.

A lot of the UCD prices are just insulting. It's shocking when you see the price tags on some of these sub-standard vehicles.

I tell ya.., with the way this game is set up it looks like PD's trying to keep everyone really busy grinding away for the next 5+ years.

Despite my pre-launch reservations I haven't found any problems with the Standard models.

They don't look appreciably different on replays and they handle just as well with the obvious proviso that they have no cockpit view.

19m for a Ford GT40? Fine! Standard? Fine too :)

Yes they do.

I think the GT40 and the two Chaparrals cost that much because they're classic race cars. So I'm not really surprised that they're super expensive just like the XJ-13, P4, and Mark IV.

for just a regular vehicle in real life, 64K is a lot of money to most people

Well the Credits in GT5 don't directly relate to real life, A Bugatti Veyron is about 1 million Euros in real life but it's 2 million credits in GT5.

And how many 20 million euro/pound/dollar cars do you know of in real life?

Just because a car is standard doesn't mean it should be cheaper. Also I find the car prices are accurate, in a relative way. For example, Imprezas and Evos are priced roughly the same, and I'm pretty sure Hyundai would have to be mad to price a Tuscani/Coupe higher than either of the former in real life. Could have been a typo?

Quit crying. (and don't cry about me telling you to quit crying either... ;)) "Why, this is an outrage! HOW DARE THEY?!?! KAZ, WHYYYYYYYYY???"

Seriously though, go outside and get some fresh air... you're being way too dramatic about this.

Go find a mint condition GT40 '69 in real life, then ask them to weld the doors shut so you can't get inside. When they're done, ask them to sell it to you cheaper because you can't get in anymore.

Hold for laughter.

Still holding.:sly:

2 mil US might be a little close to the credits in the game.
And I do know that the 330 P4 race car is practically priceless, 20 mil is a deal to some hardcore Ferrari enthusiasts for that piece.

which makes races with 4+ 330's absurd- FROM THE WIKIpedia :
Only four Ferrari P4 engined cars were ever made: one P 3/4 and three 330 P4's-# 0856 remains in its original state and is owned by Canadian Lawrence Stroll[4]
# 0858 was converted into a 350 Can-Am and is owned by American Walter Medlin
# 0860 was also converted to a 350 Can-Am but is presently wearing a P4 Spyder body and is in a French automobile museum
# 0846, known as the P 3/4 because though it was originally built as a P3 by Ferrari, it was modified in December 1966 to accept a P4 engine while retaining its P3 nose and chassis

yet all you have to do is watch the demos to see herds of them :)

Hilarious.

Kids don't want to spend a lot of credits on a car because it doesn't have an interior view. Stunning.

I've already made several posts in the past detailing the extent that the GT5 used car prices are a joke (for example, cars costing more used than they did new in previous GT titles), but I'll touch on some specific things:

What's wrong with that? 64k isn't a lot of money.
For a used Hyundai Tiburon? 64k should be able to buy you 7 of them.

Just because a car is standard doesn't mean it should be cheaper.
They are all treated as used cars (chassis is shot, engines need rebuilding), so it does mean that they should.

Well the Credits in GT5 don't directly relate to real life
Which is a problem in itself, because PD made attempts to do so in previous games (and still did for most of the Premium models).

That being said, if PD would fix it so the 20 million used cars (the two Chaparrals, the GT40) didn't need the engine rebuild and chassis refresh, I wouldn't have much problem with how much they cost in that lot. The Chaparrals are a touch expensive, but if the Le Mans winning GT40 was to cross an auction block in real life I really don't see 20 million as being too far out of the question.

I remember seeing the 19.8 mil GT40 in the UCD the very first time I ever went there when I started playing the game. Was that the game's way of mocking me?:grumpy: I couldn't help but thinking that the ridiculous price was somewhere out of the stratosphere, and on day 1 no less!

Also, is was only 2 million in GT2... inflation much???:yuck:
