STUPID QUESTION TIME!!!

Is there such a thing as "Wearing out your car"? I saw, on FaceBook somewhere, people were worried about using their car too much and possibly wearing it out. I stated that with the ability to take it to the shop and get an engine Overhauled and the chassis Stengthened...you could NEVER "wear out" a car!

What do you GT5-aholics say?

Some say that it is possible to permanently wear out your car. It supposedly happens around 3,900 miles.

I ran 14 1+hour races in the last season of the FGTC and roughly 10 x10 minute practice races for every main race.
At the beginning I changed oil straight away and 'ran in' the engine.
After race 1 I could not rebuild the engine as it didnt need it. Same for race 2. Race 3 I was allowed. By race 4 I could re build the engine after every race and by race 10 I was having to change the oil after a few practice races. By the end of the season my power was dropping by 30-35hp during the races.
From this It would appear that overuse of a car does damage the engine and although you can always get it back to max hp it wont stay that way for long regardless of how often it is re built or the oil changed.
Bear in mind this was a formula car and IRL would need constant care anyway, whether the same would apply to lower stressed engines in GT5 I do not know.
Hope this helps.
