Tell here the coolest overtaking-actions you have ever made!:)

If you tell it, you can tell this with it:

- which track
- which (cup) race, maybe with free run
- which car
- which turn

enjoy!:D

If this thread or a thread like this already has bin made, excuse me...

I don't know of any other threads like this, so you're probably good to go (:

I've done this several times and find it very rewarding. Coming into a (for example) left corner in fourth place I pass the first car on the outside then as I'm moving through the corner I take the next car to the inside catching some rumble strip then swing wide back to the outside of the last car and into first place with the engine screaming as I go for third gear. Then a quick glance in the mirror or maybe even switch to rear view and watch the cars fight for rank behind me.

Lots of fun.

I was enjoying hurling my Polyphony001 around Rome in the Formula GT races. Particularly on the long back "straight", where I was so much later on the brakes than the AI cars, I would just scream up the inside.

Made me feel like a racing driver! :)

Pretty cool thread. 👍
My most memorable pass:

-Track: Laguna Seca
-Cup Race: F1 Race
-Car: F/090
-Turn: Actually it wasn't at a turn specifically, it was at the short stretch right after the downhill left turn (after the corkscrew)
I had like three other cars in front of me all blocking the track and I had a great momentum going from the previous left turn so I had to go out biting the grass with two tires on the left side of the track then duck back in just in time to take the right turn that was looming. The whole thing lasted for like 1 second.

I know it doesn't sound that great since going off the track isn't all that outrageous, but just imagine Montoya or Schumacher pulling a move like that in an actual F1 car.

Unfortunately, I've found that the piss-poor AI in GT3 makes truly great overtaking moments nearly impossible. THe problem, I think, is that, unlike real racing, I am usually able to get around all of the cars quite easily (unless I am severely under-hp). In real racing (F1 for example), you may have to set up the guy you want to pass for several laps before actually making the pass stick. It is this area that I hope GT4 really addresses. I would like to have to out-think the AI for a change, rather than just take the inside line right around them every time.

Almost any race on the Special Stage Route 11 course. The AI cars never quickly go around the turns and I find it easy to pass them. Unless I'm in first place. Then they just seem to take turns much too quickly and ram me, causing me to spin out, and I end up loosing my lead. Then, I take great pride in passing them again.

Try running this course in the GT World Championship in the Amature League, I believe. Use a stock, low HP rally car, or street car, and have fun getting rammed from behind.
