Hey guys I just got the Pace Car with the roof lights from the dealership. I know in previous GT's the Pace Cars have the flashing lights. I bought it but nothing is happening. I can't get the lights to work. Just the regular headlights are on (seems permanently on) and that's it. Any help guys?

EDIT: Nevermind according to the following thread seems you can't

I feel seriously ripped off. 100 grand for nothing.

I won't see the lights from the roof cam anyway, so I don't care at all. Chase cam FTL.

See these are the little things that the GT series is supposed to excel at. I'm pretty sure that we can forget about getting lights. Seems like one of those "if it ain't in there to begin with then forget it" type of things. Especially with it being a standard car.

I guess you don't watch replays either. Or you probably don't have friends online that you may wish to surprise them with it in a race.

I want the flashing lights too. :/

I have been looking for this car in both of my used car lots.

Seen it once but I was not level 9, so I could not buy it.
I don't recall seeing it in the other but if it's lights aren't working I quess the non-pace car will have to do.

I wanted that pace car for actual races online that would benefit from such a car, especially if we had control of the lights.
Lights off and ready to go racing.

If I see it I'll still get it though. :indiff:

This is exactly what I wanted it for. Was going to surprise my group I race with. Anyone know how they worked in GT4?

I have both the pace car and non-pace car, I haven't used either but I'm disappointed you can't get the lights to flash, if only for photo mode. I noticed the standard Blitz ER34 has neon lights in the grill and the Spoon S2000 has a light on the roof, but that's as unusual as I've seen so far.

I'm pretty sure if you check the control settings, there's an option to adjust lights on your car to high to low beam, and even flash them. Maybe this option also flashes the lights on the pace car?

I thought about that but it seems I lost that setting somewhere. I couldn't get any lights to do anything. I'll check. I would think those with the car would have tried that by now but if not I'll try.

You might need a steering wheel to set this, I haven't tried this with the controller... you can even set a button to turn on the windshield wipers! So check it out and let us know... 'cause if so, guess who's buying a pace car tonight!

I'll give you mine if you want? I never use it.

someone should twitter Kaz about this, its a small chance that he'll doing something about it...

Actually...yes, this is a good idea. It seems like it would be a pretty easy fix, I could see him maybe doing it.

Nope, tried it!

I was unreasonably happy when I saw this in the UCD - and marginally less happy when I won another one about 30 minutes later :D

I guess that the lights don't work this time around because it's a standard model.

The non-lights version (never seen it before!) appeared in one of the Level 15/16 comps I believe...

Big surprise since reverse lights only work on premiums why would they make all the lights work on the standards [/sarcasm]

Yeah. It isn't as if those lights weren't already functioning in the several other games in the series that this specific car was in.[/sarcasm]

Think the bulbs have blown in mine after all these years might nip down to GT Auto to get them.

Was gutted when they di not flash, thought there would do a pace car with the new GT-R that would be nice.

Well I guess that pretty much kills that. Small letdown of the year.
Game breaker? No. Enjoyment dasher? Yes.

Remember that these Standard cars were more or less ported over from GT4 in a hurry to meet the car count. They'd be updated to Premium as they went. If they were going to port over the functioning light bar, then it'd be worth more of their time to just invest in making the whole thing Premium.

When the R34 finally gets around to being upgraded, I'm sure we'll get the working Light Bar. It's just a matter of patience. We waited this long for the game - we have plenty of it.

Wait, are you telling me they plan to eventually make the standard cars premium bit by bit? Where did you read this?

Here I sit watching , waiting for the time when Mankind is at it's lowest, when trouble is all around, when all humanity is in darkness I, the Official Pace will come and bring light to..... uh wait, my lights don't work. I guess Earth is doomed then. Gotta go, see you on Mars if you make it. PEEEEAAACE!!
lol

There was no reason NOT to make the pace car a premium. There are already premium R34s, so all they had to do was rescan the texture/decals they used, to make it look nice on the outside. BTW having all used cars be standard sucks.
