Hi everybody

I did check the forum but could not find an answer to the following question:

I just did receice my Fanatec CSR Elite Wheel (with CSR shifter set and CSR elite pedals). I was upgrading from the Microsoft Speed Wheel (which I just bought to kill the time until my CSR will arrive).

Now I cannot use the Paddle Shifters on the wheel. Maybe I am just making a very stupid mistake. The manual shifter works fine and the clutch too. Where do I have to tell Forza 4 that I want to use the paddle shifters instead of the manual shifter set?

By the way: There is nothing wrong with the paddles itself - they work perfectly with all PS3-games I have test so far.

I have the same issue, anybody know what the issue is? I have tried turning Manuel & Auto transmission on and off, the wheel shows in the controller screen.

Please help :(

I fallen and I can't get up, okay atleast i can still laugh about it

did you select in the difficulty setting manual with or without clutch?

Selecting "manual with clutch" or "manual without clutch" changes nothing in the use of the Paddle Shifters. The game simply ignores them. Very strange.

I have switched to the sequential shifter now. But that could not be the solution.

Just to close my question formally I copy a piece of the message in the 911wheel forum here (posted above by VWMasteR):

"715 will bring several improvements and bugfixes.

* Issue with shifter paddles on Xbox360
* Imporved force feedback effects
* Autoclutch
* Improved damper on PC and PS3. PC needs a driver for further imporvement but this will follow soon."

So it is really a problem of the CSR Elite Wheel (with the firmware 707). They do not support the shifter paddles on the X-BOX. I find this rather strange, as the Fanatec CSR-wheels are supposed to be the "offical Forza 4"-wheels.

In the meantime I have updated to firmware 715 and now all the problems are gone. Thank you all for the help.

If you have a CSR-Elite there is a firmware available for download. It uses an upgraded update tool that is supposed to be much easier to use. Keep this in mind that it is a Beta firmware, but there are many using it with great success.

It is supposed to address all of the outstanding issues without adding any new ones. I assume this is a Beta as they likely had time to test against current issues but not thoroughly put it through the paces to decide if it introduces any new ones.
