There is the Dealership, the Used car dealer, and the Online dealer, so why not have a paint dealership? so people could batch buy some of their favourite paints, like for example my favourite paint is chameleon orange, from the tvr tamora. This could be a good idea.

Slam that on any car, it looks like it was made by sweet angels.

As I got over a thousand paints already I'm not very bothered by the missing paint shop anymore. Though I still don't really get why they didn't include it in the game or as a part of GT Auto.

Glad im not the only one who loves that colour.

But yes, what is the point of having 1 extra paint chip when buying a car, and only being allowed to use it once? I would love to browse a paint store and buy select colours i want.

I don't usually worry too much about the paint chips, because whenever my friend borrows a car off me (well used to ever since the Lend/Borrow car feature came available) he would get a copy of the paint chip and i would to when he returned it. If i wanted and extra chip, he'll just send it.
Indeed though, a paint shop or even a way to just purchase a paint chip of a car in a dealership when you see it will be awsome. I think, though if they do implement this, the cost of paint will be stupid.

A paint store (in GT auto) that buys and sells and trades paint would be great. I have like 200 chips I could sell for cars/parts really fast.

In real life the tires will go from one car to another some, why not in the game?

They intentionally restricted paint colors the way they did, to give the game a false sense of longevity.
There's no official statement supporting this, but it's how I see it.

They should simply have left the paint chip mechanic out of the game. The only thing that makes sense from the players' standpoint, would be to make all colors available in GT Auto, at a price, when you want to paint your car.
Certain colors could cost more, to give them a sense of exclusivity - as in real life.

They won't. There are tons of different tires. You can't take tires that fits on a Honda S2000, and put them on an RX7.

^^^ Agreed.

I wish there was a way to delete paint chips. They are clogging my save file.

Yes, there are tons of different tires. However, your example is TERRIBLE. S2000's and FD RX7's can definitely use the same tires. In fact, they can use the same wheels--they have the same bolt pattern (5x114), and they both use high(ish) offset wheels.

Even completely different cars can use the same size tires on various size wheels. For example, 245/40/16's fit on 16x8 to 16x9 (properly, that is--you can also stretch them over 10's and 11's), and those size wheels fit myriad different cars.

So even though there are tons of different tires in real life, GT5 doesn't even recognize that there are different sizes. You get "sports soft" and stick that in your parts bin, you can put those on anything from an S500 to NASCAR.

lol.. you can!!!... iv deleted more than 200 chips by now.. maybe 300 im not sure
many useless chips in this game , i just like matte pink

This is the best idea I've seen so far from anybody in this forum. What else am I going to do with 12mil cr and all the cars I want. Start spending on buying paint and painting all your cars to your liking.

You can mark certain cars as Favourites, why not do the same with Paint Chips?

I have over 1000 of the things now and the organisation of them is impossible. If you like the colour Yellow for your cars for example, you can't group everything that is a variation on Yellow in one place to view them all in some sort of close proximity list. Instead they are scattered all over the place based upon their alphabetic name order.

The stacks don't work either, I have two stacks for each colour of my Matte chips - one might have 3 owned and the other might have two.

Perhaps also it is just my eyes but when I select a colour, preview it on the odd shape thing beside the car I regularly am a little surprised how the colour selected looks a lot darker on the model than it does on the thumbnail.

The problem with the paint chip organization is that the game recognizes gifted chips from friends as different from chips found in the actual game save. Duplicating a paint chip to a secondary account and then back to the main has it listed twice, for example.

I've got over 1200 in my main save, and another 900 between my other 2, so I have less of a use for a paint shop these days past convenience, since I have nearly every colour I could want. My favourites are usually duplicated so that I have a nice stock to not worry about losing. Just be thankful your favourite paint (the TVR Chameleon Orange) is available all the time in the Dealerships; before v1.06 when it was always single colours in the UCD, it took me forever to hunt down some of my favourites, relying on the daily gift bonuses!
