This is the one thing that is not in the game. Full Painting abillity yes you can paint some cars but you can't put designs on it like you can on Forza 3. Don't get me wrong i love GT but i really enjoy sitting there and designing cars. On Forza i have 200 + cars with my own designs. I would really like to see that on GT5
 
And what is the question?

Missing livery editor is one thing, but it's a massive shame you can't paint standard cars.

Yes you have. You can paint standard cars.

Hmm... wow. I remember trying to paint a couple of standards early on and got the message that I couldn't paint those cars. Maybe it was something particular with those?

Oh, man, I feel like a complete clown.

But wait, I've read about people being excited about new colours on the cars in the UCD, isn't that an indication that you can't paint them yourself?
 
Some standards can't be painted, but most can.

I think there's a couple of reasons different UCD colours are good. They mean combinations that couldn't be painted become available, like two-tones or stripes, or convertible hoods that change with the main colour. Some colours should become easier to get, rather than relying on login bonus paints, PSP imports or random prize tickets. And as you found out, some cars just can't be painted - I'm sure I read the Chevelle was one of those, and that's a pretty obvious car for a lot of US gamers to want to paint.

Certain cars, like the FGT and other race cars can't be painted, but do crop up in different colours. The Veyron comes in many different colours and you can re-paint it, but you can only paint it in one colour as opposed to the two-tone scheme you buy them in or are awarded.
