Painting GT Academy cars!

I have both the 370z Tuned car (GT Academy version) as well as the GT-R SpecV (GT Academy version). They were both in a form of gray. I would like to paint the 370 red and my GT-R black. Will I lose the gt academy decals if I paint them? I am nearly positive I wont but want to be sure before painting them.
