Couldn't find an existing thread and was wondering if anyone could help. For some reason all my paint chips of any particular color are not combining. I did not know if this was normal or if there was a way to "fix" it?

For example:

I have 9 "Black" categories, each with maybe 1 or 2
4 "Black Mica" each with one
All my matte colors have atleast 2 of each color

Mine do the same thing, I just figured that it was normal.

Every time PD patch the game there is a chance that your paints from before will stop stacking properly with the ones afterwards.

Also, note that this can also happen when you do the USB Duplication trick.

Ooh ok, I appreciate everyone's info. I just didn't know if there was a way to fix it. I have 17 mattes colors but, have 36 in my list. Was hoping there was a way to fix, so a little easier to go threw them.

I have been doing the USB back up though, so maybe that isn't helping. lol

It also stacks in different piles depending where you get them. So say you get a matte blue as a bonus and someone gifts you a matte blue, you would have 2 stacks, 1 in each.

Ahh, gotcha. That makes sense, lol.

Thanks 👍

When you get to the point that you can't receive anymore items this is a good place to delete some. You can start with whites, blacks, and reds. Sort by color then start deleting.

I'm nowhere near that point, lol. I have maybe 570 paints

But thanks :)

Best to keep it below 1000, though. After it gets above that the game gets really sluggish whenever it loads up the paint menu.

One thing I've noticed now that I've finally hit the limit: those separate paints with the same name are not all truly "separate." If you sort the paints by name(to get rid of those duplicates) and then select several of them at once to delete them, if you scroll off the page and come back you will find that many more items than you actually clicked on are now selected. If you un-check them and then scroll away and back again, it will un-select the others as well.

So at least some of the duplicates appear to be actually duplicate entries for the same item. This might also help explain why I've hit the limit even though all of my item totals don't come anywhere near 8,000(I think I remember 8,000 being the limit, could be wrong... but I only count somewhere around 5,000). This probably also helps explain why the quantity of paints makes no sense and doesn't go up by as many as it says it does each day, as well as how you can have 3,446 paint chips, delete 10 of them, and end up having 3,443.

It burns through older stacks of the paints first when you use the chips to paint cars as well. So if you have two stacks of 3 chips of Deep Purple Metallic, when you paint a car with it the first stack would drop to 2 and the more recent stack would remain at three.

I got to the paint limit and had to delete all those odd annoying ones. Ending up 600 Paints lighter.

One thing you will need to do if you delete a lot of your paints: Do a "save game" right away, because if you don't then exit the game without doing one every paint you just deleted will be back. This could save some 20-30 mins of waisted time!
