I guess so as his signature includes a link to download the clip of his band and himself playing. If he was worried about people seeing his pictures then I guess he wouldn't advertise this fact to everyone on the board.

How about a 640x480, avi version that's only 747.6mb's? :D

Sounds good Pako! Just post the link and I'll download it!

Can honestly say I enjoyed the bands peformance....Top Shelf! ;)

Or I could do the whole show 640x480, that's one hour of DV tape, and only about 2.1 gb's of space...

Here's the funny part....(or is it...) My ISP/Webspace Host, I guess, limits my account to only 10mb's.... I was just reading the contract, and they're stating a charge of $1.00 for each additional mb of webspace that is needed...above the initial 10mbs...

When I re-encode it, I'll be making a mpeg-2 file for SVCD distribution... I'll let you know when it's done..

Note: TO be honest, the Real Media produced the smallest file with the highest quality, and that's why I went with it... My feeling on "Real Stuff" is that I don't particularly like it either...

Dude, you should seriously consider deleting that stuff. They do have the right to backbill you if their logs prove that your files where there.

But seriously, how about an mp3 of the base solo? Real Media is EVIL.

Isn't it their responsibility to monitor that stuff and block additional uploads that exceed my contracted amount?

Well, it depends on how they run their business. I suppose it's arguable either way, but most companies just quote a limit and don't enforce it. The software that makes quotas easy to manage isn't cheap, and doing it manually is more time consuming than any company can handle.

I thought that charging exorbitant amounts for people that go over their limits was how these guys made their money. ;)

I told then I'd outright buy a 34gb SCSI Hard Drive and just give it to them, if they'd just give me a couple of gbs off of it...:D

Yeah right!

Seriously though...an mp3 is only audio, the RM file is full video/audio.... :D

Did you try DivX? I wasn't crazy about it at first, but the latest version runs supersmooth and really hacks down file sizes. that, or .asf files...

I've never messed with Divx, nor is it a common codec that people have just installed on their machines....

So you seem pretty happy with Divx?

I actually have some new encoders that I'll try with the mpeg1 and mpeg2 at 450x450 res... I believe that this video is at 320x240...but the source file is 640x480 so I have some room to mess with the resolution...

http://www.divx.com/ Free Download!

All of the movies on GTP are DivX encoded. I haven't encoded anything yet myself, but from what I've seen it's pretty damn good.

I'm really enjoying MPEG Layer 2 encoding with 16-bit 44.1 audio... Why it's almost as good as DVD.... :D

Still looking into DIVx.....

Skip DivX unless you just want to store it. You will have to reencode it back to Mpg for VCD at a cost of about an hour or so per disc. It's a nice codec, but it's not useful in for any practical purposes.

Man, I really enjoyed that solo but wait, whats that guy saying?
