So there has been some discussion on this and I as well as a few others were unsure on exactly how switching disc versions or stealth codes would work out. I ordered the Signature edition of the game PAL version (I'm in NTSC) because the stealth cars are awesome....and the 787b is one of my favorite cars (the stealth is even better)
Hoodfield asserted that the disc would work fine, and the dlc cars would be shared with everyone on the PS3 just like normal but that you would have to start the game over again. I asserted the same but that I didn't think you would have to start a new game. Hoodfield = 💡 👍
Me = 💡 👎
(I'm making it a point to say who was right and who was wrong because I made it a point to originally to say that I thought I was right and he was wrong...he won fair and square...but here is how it works)
I can use my same psn ID's but the PAL version starts it's own new save file. Starting the game over. Now when I go to my id that I use the most (I play under 5 different ones) It has two save files, one for PAL, and one for NTSC. From what I can see the files in the save file are identical extensions, and would even have the same psn signature...but they are seperate, I'm not sure what differentiates them as I recently bought a mac and the software I used to use to get a closer look at that kind of stuff I have not loaded onto my new computer. So for someone interested in trying to merge the two, i don't know how possible or difficult it is. I'm happy just to start over with my new cars but we have a final answer on this now from first hand knowledge. Also, the chromeline cars behave the same way as the stealths, they travel with the version of the game. The chromeline cars I have as part of my NTSC package are gone and replaced with the newer pal versions when I insert the pal disc, and vice versa. If someone has file manipulation software I'd be curious as to what the difference is in the actual files that causes this behavior. If you have the means...I highly recomend the stealth cars....so sweet.
