Errrm theres another thread for looking for drifters but none for gatherings.
Sooooo it should be legit.

Place
Usual drift spot for me is the Suzuka 600PP

Things to follow
Hold back t the bottom at the start.
Drifting around the Esses and back and forth.
Let people past if you are getting into the way

You dont really have to follow the second guideline :O

Times
Well this is a toughy...

Lets get the timing right!

how do I know if i'm in NTSC or PAL ...cuz i don't know what either one stands for?

If you have the game bought from Europe its basically PAL
If you bought the game in america you are NTSC

lol this thread is working very well.

Yo,

I've got my capture card setup and ready for this drifting session (if it happens..). Its not capturing in HD though but its better than holding a camera
in front of the TV ;)

600pp Suzuka Pro Physics (PAL) is best for me. As for timing, I can do :-

- Mon-Fri 20:00-01:00 AEST (GMT+10) or 10:00-15:00 GMT.

Just gotta find a way to get some drifters....

Count me in....

I dint get what thats about :S

I won't drift till there's private rooms, you'll only get in the way of people who want to have a proper race.

Prove to me how we driters get in the way?

We wait at the back...We let people pass...What more do you want?

Some drift/race at the same time but I choose to play around and show off :P

Well I think we should message each other when we are going on...beacuse this may be impossible (-_-')

Fujiwara-kun,

Well said... I don't think we can wait till PD implements private rooms for us to have some sideways fun ;) ;) it may well be into 2009/2010 before we get private rooms. So, as long as we don't get in the way of the grid racers, I'm all for online drifting ;) The challenge again is getting more than 2 or 3 drifters into the same event. Then its back to good old fashion e-mail/message/IM to coordinate.

BTW, I enjoyed the few sessions we drifted together on Suzuka 600pp. One thing I noticed was that you have so much speed going into the turns and I had a hard time keeping up... how do you manage to maintain the speed if you don't mind sharing? I'll be mostly around 80-90kmph (50-55mph) with the Tuned Cappuccino or the BMW 135i in the S'es.. and as you've noticed, I initiate the drifts mostly by feinting.

Cheers.

Very simple to do in mostly any FR car. Set the 3rd gear to errrrrmmm well I have it about 80'smph. Then on the Esses you drift in third gear doing about 60mph average

AAAAHHH PS3 cant type anymore :P

Off to drift Message if you want to play :D

lol... somebody's gotta pay for the PS3, games, wheels, LCD, etc... ;) ;)

BTW, what do you think of using IRC to coordinate with the online drifting?
Check this thread out https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=106476

This way its realtime AND multiuser communications. Hopefully this will encourage more drifters to go online? Problem with this is that you'll need your PS3 AND PC on the network at the same time.

Cheers.

lol I know what you mean. My Christmas Wii covered the PS3 for me :P
The IRC chat thing.

I tried just using computer. It just closed the window...
I dont think I could use it as I have a wired connection. So I cant have two internets at the same time...

Looks like you'll need a switch & router to get them on the network at the same time. Not knowing exactly how your Internet is setup, you'll normally need a switch (forget about hubs) and a router to have multiple PCs access the Internet.

Let me know if you need any help with the setup... when not drifting, I'm dealing with network projects for a "large" auto manufacturer.

Cheers.
