I realize there's a voltage difference between Europe (220) and US (110) but that easily enough be taken care of with a power transformer. What I am more concerned with is wether or not a PAL PS2 will display properly on a US television....

I believe that it wouldn't work if we were talking PAL VHS VCR on a US NTSC TV (or vice-versa for that matter) but I don't know if that's also the case for DVD and their players. Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks.

i think it would just look weird, but it might work. PAL (Phase Alternating Lines...i think) and NTSC are not too diferent if I remember right from TV production class. I am not positive, but it might work with your power converter thing

I remeber playing NTSC games on my PAL Playstation. - But it only worked if I used the RGB cable. (The one that turns your DVD's green on your PS2.)

My TV is about 5 years old, and it has no problem with the NTSC signal.
If there was a problem, the picture would be in black/white, or not show up at all.

I don't see any risk in trying it out, I doubt that the picture signal from the PAL PS2 will be of a higher voltage, than the other one.

(But it is at your own risk, so don't blame me if it doesn't work.)

from what i know, NTSC is 640x400 30fps, PAL is 768x576 25fps. A PAL PS2 mostly won't work on NTSC TV. Most TVs in my town have both PAL and NTSC systems. Don't know if it's good for us cuz mostly they are more expensive than those you guys have.
