Have you driven the Panoz Esperante GTR-1 Race Car '98? Is this a good purchase? Please share your opinion.

It looks really nice...

btw... Is there someone who is sharing this car? I'd like to test it before spend all my credits on it...
 
It's ok. But that's all i can say!.. How much is it? I revieved it in a 1000 Ticket so don't know the price! Depending on how much it is i'll tell you if it is worth it
 
Nahh keep you're cash and save for something a bit better!!

It's definately not worth 2,900,000Cr I'm afraid!!

It's just another car to mess around in it has no purpose and isn't that great to mess round in even at that lol
 
It depends on what you are after, I would buy it if curious. The car does not pop up often in the regular dealership, I waited forever to find it. To me the Panoz Esperante and the Gillet Vertigo are the 2 most interesting GT cars in the game in terms of looks and specs.

I love the GTR-1 for 3 reasons:
#1 - looks amazing (I'd love it to be premium)
#2 - nostalgia (still remember while playing with this car in Midtown Madness 2...that was FUN)
#3 - performance (there are better cars, but this deserves a special care)

As for the price, I got it from a trade, but I would pay even more money if it was necessary. Reason: see above:)
 
It looks good, but the performance is so poor unless you are a collector it is not worth it at all. I actually think it's got worse since GT3 as I remember it was a lot better then.
 
I have it from the fact as you mention, Collecting cars!
As with alot of cars in GT5 you don't really need them but you just want them, then you really there are a waste of money or time trading lol

I have it and quite like it, I fully modded mine and you can easily beat the American championship with it, its not the greatest car ever but its different and fun to drive, once you get rid of the understeer...

My thoughts, exactly. It was one of GT3's finest cars but now it's terrible. Just like the Vertigo.

Yea maybe you guys are right, too expensive and the performance is not that good:guilty: But if you are a collector, or like the car, maybe is better buying it cause it will take a while 'til it shows on UCD again...
 
I'm not a collector (well, in some way we all are collectors, but you know...) I just want competitive cars for online, better if they are nice. And I like this a lot...
If it feels like vertigo, it's not the car what i'm looking for. Vertigo is fun, because is a challenge pushing it while fighting with oversteer... But for this porpose I already have the vertigo, don't need another "nice-but-hard-to-drive"... Anyway i'm still interested in test it...
 
Can you get this car from the 1998 b'day ticket?
I want it but don't like driving it ( i bought it but didn't like it so i loaded an earlier save) so I'm looking for an easier way to get it than opening the ticket 1000 a few hundred times.

Most probably yes.
 
It's good but quite a few cheaper cars perform better, such as the ZR-1 RM, Ford GT race cars, Mazda Furai Concept (except on high speed courses), Suzuki ESCUDO Dirt Trial (best car for under 2 million easily) and I'm sure I missed a few. The Esperante performs on par with a Nomad Diablo GT-1 (assuming both are fully upgraded) and the latter can still be traded.
 
It's a decent car. It's what I used all the time for GT3. I love the sound and rumble of the engine.
 
I have bought this car, and it is absolutely AMAZING! Here are four reasons:

1. Performance(675 PP fully modded[ 30,000 for Two turbo upgrades] Acceleration is jaw-dropping)

2. as mentioned by GTShadowKing, Nostalgia. I have played Midtown Madness 2, this car was great even then)

3.Looks. It's the most horrendous, ugliest, demon-looking car you will ever find. Adds to the character and the rareness of the car.

4.Handling. Full Downforce makes it attack every apex amazingly.
