Like many im getting fed up seeing the constant negative threads that appear on this forum but recently i seen a great thread obviously started by someone who still finds GT5 fun.......It was titled "the magic of finding a good race against the AI" This is something i often try to do within GT5 and this has put simply inspired me to share some of my ideas.................Almost like my own seasonals!!!!!
Im actually going to put some effort into this and for each race the plan is to come up with 3 alternative cars/variations per race which will effectively be differing difficultys. The first car suggestion will still be fairly challenging but possible for most, 2nd car suggested will pose a considerable challenge and the 3rd will be for the driving gods among us. Now im pretty handy at this game so the events/suggestions should provide a challenge to most people who play the game.
Each event will have set regs, and the challenge will be based on not using any aids bar abs at 1. Off course anyone is free to use what aids they like but iv based my difficulty on using none. Races should also be completed actually driving like a race driver, overtaking the AI should be completed cleanly and fairly to get the full scope off the challenge.
My plan is to reguarly update this thread with new challenges, think il aim for 5 per week per monday(so il hopefully have 5 live 2moro for you guys) I also plan on running a similar thread on the seasonal event sub forum.
Below is a couple of tasters that i quickly composed last night, not really had the proper testing but give them a bash a see what you think. The idea is that people can run these races, get challenged, have fun and make credits/xp at the same time.
PANTHERJAGS SEASONALS--TEST
TEST....1
Race location/info.....Circuit de Madrid, pro events, Gran Turismo WC, 5 laps, rolling start, 21,700 credits, 7700 XP
Car 1(easy).....Any lexus sc430 gt500 car......no aids, tuning, upgardes, racing hard tyres
Car 2(medium).....Any lexus sc430 gt500 car......no aids, tuning, upgrades, racing hard tyres............Reduce horsepower to 446 BHP using limiter
Car 3(hard)....Subaru cusco impreza 08 gt 300 car.....no aids, upgrades, racing hard tyres
All three off these races are very do-able but the AI can turn up with a few surprises that really give a close race.....particuarly watch for a ford mark IV, chaperel 2J, zonda LM, they normally dont start at the front so you can get to the front and see if you can hold them off. on other occasions they'll just disappear on the straights but the cars selected are pretty nimble and can make up time in the corners......not the hardest challenge but good fun.
TEST....2
Race location /info.....High speed ring, pro events, supercar festival, 3 laps, 17,000 credits, 2850 xp
Car 1(easy)....Zonda C12S....no aids, tuning, upgrades........sports hard tyres
Car 2(meduim).....Dodge SRT10 ACR 08........no aids, tuning, upgrades..........sports hard tyres
Car 3(hard)......Cizeta v16...94........no aids, tuning, upgrades......sports hard tyres
Probably a harder selection than test 1 because the AI are on sports softs but none the less still winnable. The main cars to watch out for are the mclaren F! and the RUF yellowbird.......I actually tried the race using the RUF yellowbird with zero aids, tuning, upgrades etc on sports hard and struggled to complete a lap. Perhaps that could be car 4 extreme lol.
The above races are just quickly put together tests and are probably not perfect but they give a sample of what i plan to produce over the next few weeks, i had great fun composing them and im sure people will have fun trying them, off course i appreciate you may not have the cars choosen or may have them and tuned/upgraded them, as stated these are just test and future events will be more fexable and hopefully interesting.
So give them a bash and let me know how you get on.....cheers
