I am going to start a project attempting to determine the relative performance of cars at the 500 pp tune.
All cars will be run on GVS as I know this track best. I will run them on the seasonal They will all be tuned utilizing the principles that the GTtuner phone app utilizes with similar settings used for each. Adapting to compensate for torque variations (diff will be adjusted as needed). This ,I have found, is a good starting point for tuning.
The purpose of the test is to highlight the disparity of some cars at a particular pp. I know many people here are going to give me the (PP is just a guideline) lecture but it is not necessary. Some cars, I have found, are so exceptional at a PP level while others are quite the opposite.
Cars that are total fail will be alloted more time for tuning in an attempt to improve times. I understand that PP is a rough rating of performance but I feel it should be refined.
Torque, I believe, is one area that the PP system applies too much weight in some cars. Whereas MR configuration is not given enough weight in many cases.
I would like PP to more accurately depict the actual performance of cars. This is not an unreasonable request and I don't want this thread to devolve into the usual "critics pointing out shortfalls in an attempt to improve the state of the game vs fanbois that feel obligated to protect the honor of PD and the "perfection" that GT5 represents" arguement. If this project seems like a waste of time to you rest easy, it's not your time.
