I'm having a major issue downloading this patch, specifically because the patch wants to take too long to download (+600 minutes) and the lowest time I've been able to get it to was approximately 385 minutes by canceling the download and then restarting. Is there a way to fix this, or site I can download the patch from (other than here) because I'm looking forward to the new features that I can't even use.

Unfortunately, I believe that the only way to download and install the patch is downloading it through the PS3 itself. Sorry Mate.

Make sure no one else is using a computer on the same Internet source cause that can cause it to go very slow or your Internet might just suck....

No, there is clearly something wrong with the servers. I can download at typical speeds just fine from the playstation network, however downloading the patch for gt5 lists it at over 1000 minutes remaining. Ive found a small number of people on another forum experiencing the same problem. I even deleted all the game data on the hard drive and cleared the cache but nothing worked.

In any case, the only thing to do for now is to wait it out until the servers arent clogged up.

Probably pele who weren't playing gt5 saw the new patch and started to play it again shock clogged up the servers... They should be fine in a week or so.

My Ps3 isn't connected to the internet, how can I download the update?

thank you!

I know how that's like. My brother hogs the wireless connection and I don't get a fair share of the bandwidth, so my transfer speeds will suffer as a result.

Game patch update only gets activated when your online console detects the game in it. So unless you can crack a code to activate an update prompt, then, you can do it manually. Like the automatic updates on PC which only gets activated if you have a microsoft windows installed. If you don't have windows, then update prompt will not come out.

Unlike the PS3 system update, it's actually a firmware update which is hardware related issue and not software (games software for that matter).

I think PD has queue system. Download speed will pick up after you wait long enouh. When it displays xxx min, you are in queue.

There is a little trick, go to PS Store download a demo, (I’ve choosed Killzone 3) while you are downloading this demo exit from PS Store lunch GT5 and download the update. It seem my download speed get helped by the PS Store download. It works for me updated in 15 min. Don’t know if it work for you but try it!

I have really good internet and it took me over an hour to download

Here's the input I was looking for. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one having these problems, though I figured from the start the PD servers were overwhelmed so I'd just wait a while, but:

This seems like and interesting little trick, I'll try it tomorrow. It seems like it'd work because it would only make sense that the system would realize that it needed to download the patch as well, so it would download it quicker.

Yeah, turns out even that trick won't work. I'm getting a bit, say, pissed off about this now, PD should step their game up here, because I've never had trouble downloading patches before for any other games except this one, so it's gotta be something with them.

Indeed, I dont remember any past updates being this ridiculous when it comes to downloading. Maybe the remote racing feature and website is taking up some of the bandwidth.

Yeah, 37% in with 45 minutes to go. Slow, but I'll deal.

Try "clearing the cache" in the options menu - all the way at the bottom of the options menu choices, under network "tab." That may help if you haven't cleared the "cache" anytime recently.... I have a "less than stellar" internet connection, and it took me less than 30 minutes to download.. Hope that helps, cheers.
