With news that the next update is currently going through QA, we know something is on the way, but whether it is simply more bug fixes, more MP content, or what exactly, is anyone's guess.

My question is: What kind of update would they have to deliver (this would include paid DLC) that would make you personally sit up and take notice?

Freeroam Cops.

Literally the only thing I want from Payback is Freeroam Cops. And for them to be incorporated into multiplayer freeroam as well.

This is related to a suggestion made on Reddit, but I would like to see the concept of Abandoned cars expanded. Right now the chases seem a bit flat, and if Ghost do plan on increasing the scope free roam chases have in the game, they need to add some more features.

  1. First and foremost: We need heat levels. That intensity of the Skyhammer Mission with the spike strips and helicopter would be very nice to have in freeroam chases.
  2. We could also do with milestone challenges from Most Wanted 2005. You can let Abandoned car chases run as long as you want, but the reward you get for escaping the cops in 4 minutes is the same as it is for 40. Instead, how about a set of challenges to complete along the way for extra rewards? Things like "smash through x roadblocks", "wreck x police cars", "dodge x spike strips" and so on.
  3. If the abandoned cars feature is here to stay, include cars that are new to the game.
  4. By combining points 2 & 3, we could have the NFS equivalent of #Forzathon. In order to keep the new car, you must engage yourself in a pursuit and complete a task(s) within the chase. Suddenly free roam chases have so much more meaning!
As for Multiplayer... Free roam could do with some challenges and party game modes (inspired by GTA V & Forza Horizon 3)
  • Stay within a moving marked zone
  • Capture the Flag
  • Infected (Avoid being tagged)
  • Marked man (deliver a vehicle while everyone else tries to take you down)
  • Timed challenges (Accumulate the most near misses within a minute, Highest drift score, longest jump etc.)
Seeing as Burnout Paradise Remastered is coming out soon, just look at how multiplayer works in that game and bring several features over - That arguably had the best MP of any arcade racer I've played.

I like all of those ideas. I'm going to enjoy and appreciate any update, but a few things that would really "wow" me would be:

1) A "Toyota" DLC introducing Toyota cars back into the NFS franchise, including the new Supra currently in development.
- or-
2) New story-based DLC featuring Jess or Tyler along with the inclusion of free-roam cops and cop-related customization content.
-or-
3) Map expansion with 5 brand new vehicles and full customization for each. (Preferably one of those vehicles being the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrofoglio as a new Runner car)

Much along the lines of CleanCut.

More cars (especially Muscle, Euro Classics and Econoboxes like the Scion Bb or Fiat 500)
More Unique visual mods
More Missions and Story DLC
Map Expansion
More players in Multiplayer
Multiplayer Missions and Free Roam in a manner similar to 2015.
Some comedy vehiles like Lada's or Skoda's.

Most Critical addition though is a reset button (one that leaves the abandoned cars still available to buy in the stores once you've unlocked them, but scrubs them from your garage).

-More races for all classes, theres races that appear in MP that could easily be ported to SP
-All cars being able to be in every class
-All cars being able to be 399
-Fix the wraps not loading when switching cars/going to MP on XB1 already

I'm afraid I don't understand what you are asking for with this one. What would be the point of scrubbing them from your garage? Can't you just sell them?

Not what I meant. One thing missing from the game is an easy story reset which is useful for longevity and those who enjoy replaying and redoing things, similar to what I did with nfs 2015 which had a reset option. I've already restarted a run through on one of my accounts and noticed that restarting (logically) scrubs your progress and the cars you bought, but it also scrubs the inventory in the dealerships as well (again logically). This includes the abandoned cars. While things like the derelicts and speed cross cars aren't an issue as they are perminently in the game, it is a sore point with the abandoned cars as they aren't (kind of) unless you've retrieved them and unlocked them. Scrub the game and you have to wait until the missing cars come round again to unlock them. If there was a story reset that didn't involve deleting the save file or a story + option that allowed the abandoned cars already found to be available to buy so that you aren't waiting for them to be available to unlock again you would be able to replay the game without losing time sensitive unlocks and having to muck about until they are available to unlock again. Yes you are giving up a free car, unless you're prepared to wait, but you can still buy the car if you really want it now (you still have to buy the abandoned cars for other categories anyway).

I want online freeroam like in mw 2012? Loads of mini games one after the other and a choice of weather to participate or just cruise till the next one you like pops up

In no particular order:

-More cars
-A Toyota expansion as someone else pointed out
-Loot box purge
-Online freeroam

A reiteration and revision.

More classic cars and euro sports cars
Specific cars: VW Scirocco; Alfa 8C, Ford Escort Mk2, Corvette C2, Corvette C3, Jaguar XJC
More Events like Drift Train, Touge, Eliminator, etc
More side stories
Map Expansion or A cross over to NFS2015

I'd like map activities that trigger a cop chase. I mostly like to drive freely, but triggering cop chases at will would be cool.
The trigger could be ramming into a cop car in a defined location.
Escape point is predefined with each activity.
More visual customisation for some cars: currently my Audi S5 is only lightly customized even with all (unlocked) parts on it.

Look.Everybody here have an opinion what can "WOW" you.But look at phylosophic side. They made game 50% Good, and 50% Bad.So,they can't in fact change something because game is more than a year in stores.Just to hope that all this things will be added or fixed on next game.Payback is just as it's and i think that there is no way they can change.Of course, this is just discuss and answers on questions, but they must make great game and stuff on start. :)
