PC help with GPU

Hello everyone, I recently built my first pc and got started on iRacing. Everything runs great except if my wheel gets unplugged while pc is on (damn dog and kids) the screen goes no signal and the AMD adrenaline software says it’s not compatible with the current driver. I can fix it if I uninstall amd adrenaline and reinstall it. My ? Is why is this happening. It does it if it happens the other way around also. If I plug my wheel in while the pc is running m. Any ideas?

Rx 580 gpu
ASUS motherboard
Amd 5800 cpu
850 psu
 
What monitor or tv are you using?
What connector? HDMI? DisplayPort?
Do You use any adapters? eg DisplayPort to hdmi
