which is the best? without taking up loads of memory/cpu?

i have my pc on almost perminantly, playing mp3's thru my stereo... currently via winamp....

is there any other/better/'lite' programs that can do everything with my mp3's? [play, convert, tag editing, renaming, etc] without rendering my pc otherwise useless....

it's quite an old pc too, but it's only used for web browsing/media playing/etc....

foobar2000 takes up very little memory but it also is a challenge to set up and customize how you would like if you're a beginner.

I second Foobar2000, gapless playback, low mem usage and a simple interface are what make it my main player.

winamp. Foobar is for people who know what their doing. I still use it tho when I don't have a media library set up

Not really. Foobar is quite possibly one of the simplest media players to use. To customize though, well, then you need to know what you're doing. ;)

QCD Player in Runt Mode, thanks :)

This instance has been running for roughly 3 days playing mp3s for probably 4 or 5 hours a day and it's only used 12 minutes, 7 seconds of CPU time. Windows Media Player would do that in a couple of hours usage. It also uses very little RAM (roughly 5-6MB).
