PC TAXI help

Hey guys. I have a PC version of GTAIV. I loved the PS3 one, but lack of mods suck..

Anyways, HOW do I call taxi? I try pressing ever possible key on my keyboard,,, did I miss something? Please someone help me.. I can pick up taxi at beginning of the game right?
 
Can I just make it clear to everyone who may answer, do you mean hail an already moving (yellow) taxi, or get one from your cousin Roman? I can't help anymore then that.
 
Well, on PS3, many people have trouble because pressing triangle steals the car, while holding it makes you get in as a passenger. I don't know what button you have for getting in and out of vehicles, but try holding it down. To call a taxi is L1 I believe on PS3. If you can try to figure out what that is for PC then you should be able to hail one. If that's not what you're asking, you might want to clarify.
 
I don't think you can ride in a taxi until you do one of Roman's missions-- I'm not positive on that.

Holding down the "enter" button should work if the feature has been enabled.
 
Yeah on PS3 you press L1 and then hold TRIANGLE.

Yeah Spuds, you might be right, maybe I beat the Roman's mission. Thanks, I'll see if it works!

Well Since I beat the PS3 version, on PC I was just roaming for few hours through the city without any missions... maybe that why lol.

Blimey give them a chance, it's only just come out! The only reason San Andreas and Vice City had reasonable modding from the start were because they were essentially the same as GTA3. GTA4 will get mods in good time.
 
of Course :) in time.. So far my only complaint is I can play CRISIS on ULTRA HIGH graphics. and I get slow down every now and them. Crisis on mid-HIGH graphics I get perfect Frame rate...

With GTA4 I can't even switch TEXTURES to HIGH, its stuck to medium. And Even on AUTO configure options I still get SLOWDOWNS! ugh...

Can I play on other controller then that xbox360 one? It will be better for cars

Give them some time for some real modding-- these are all just tweaks...
 
Yeah they are mods.. but I am waiting for cars, weapons or HEAVY mods. These are very light scripts
 
Actually, to be able to hail a cab you first have to complete the first or second of Vlad's missions after wich you get to option to whistle for a cab.

As for setting textures to high. All you have to do is create a text file (.txt) in your main GTA IV directory and name it commandline. In it you type this: -norestrictions

Save the file and play the game. You can now set the textures to high.
