PC USB adapter for PS2 Controller

Hey all,

I was at Fry's and got a usb adapter so I could use my PS2 controller on my PC. Just to try it out I installed the NFS:U demo and everytime I plugged the controller in it froze. Any one else have info on this? Thanks
 
Wow, that sucks. I've wanted one of those adaptors for quite a while and just never got one because I only see them on 'sleezy' online stores. But I've heard a lot of people think they're really cool.

I've decided I'm going to get a controller extension for XBox and "mod" the cable to plug into standard USB - XBox uses USB signaling for its controllers. I've seen a few diagrams on the `Net so it shouldn't be too difficult.

I think Logitech makes a control pad for PC that looks just like the PS2 gamepad. It's around $19 I believe.

I did exactly the same thing and The game F'ed for me too.. I haven't tried it on any othe game than NFSU though..

That's great... but I mistakenly threw the recipt away already so I'm hoping this problem can be resolved on the one I bought... :irked:
 
Ouch, that is teh suck. I saw another one that has two dualshock connectors to one usb port. Spiffy stuff.

So back on topic. Are we sure that NFS:U supports a gamepad?
