I just picked up an Nvidia GTX460 which has an HDMI out. Hooked it up to my TV in the family room with a long cable and I can extend my desktop to it (PC is in the den, primary monitor is a Samsung on DVI).

What I really want to do though is have the TV simply mirror the PC monitor (ie display the same picture), not act as an extension of the desktop. Figured this would be a simple way of getting the PC to act as a home media center. Also thought it'd be cool to play games on the PC and have people in the other room be able to see it on the TV.

Does anyone know how to get an Nvidia card to do this? Thx.

This is possible, should be under the management for multiple displays. Windows, at least back in XP, use to be able to just have them display the same image rather than extending it. Though it might be a bit annoying if you have your TV running at a different resolution than your monitor...

Go to nVidia Control Panel (right click on the desktop. It should be there).
Select Set Up Multiple Displays along the left column.
Select the "The Same on both Displays (Clone)" option, like this:

Push "Apply." In Windows Vista there is another way to do it that is simpler, but I'm not sure if I could show a picture for it, because I'm not sure if Windows 7 and Vista are identical in that regard.
