PC wont detect controller (ps3)

Hey guys i have a problem, im trying to get my PS3 controller to work on my new PC.

I have had it working for the first couple of days but now it wont even detect the controller, if i plug in the USB cord nothing happens no ding, no notification of loading drivers or anything.

Ive tried different ports, ive restarted the computer, if i unhook the controller the lights on it start blinking like it is looking for a source to connect to via blue-tooth but my ps3 is not close so it just times out.

any help is greatly apreciated, thanks
 
64bit OS?
 
Perhaps a better question, using Motioninjoy drivers?
 
PS3 controllers need special drivers for it to work on a PC.
 
Yes 64 bit

Yes motion joy drivers worked at first but now doesn't because controller is not detected by computer
