It's easily possible to win in a Honda Integra Type-R - as long as you have the correct tyre strategy (and I recommend qualifying on T7s as well).

In fact anything with 200+hp is a breeze. I've also won in the Exige (MSport Elise) and Elise 190, but they have almost no weight... :D

These are all race winning times for the PD Cup/Trial Mountain race. postmanpete's might not be, but remember that you need to complete the race without being lapped to get a time. I'd say that he was certainly 2nd or better though.

why on earth is this race in "pro" league when you are able to win with such cars as an S2000? or an integra? seems like an amateur race to me :odd:

I did this series with a Ruf 3400S. It was very fun, and I remember having trouble against the NSX. I recommend that car for every race.

This series all comes down to what you are against, and maybe what tires you are using. Another reason why I say GT3s sub game (race leagues, series layout, etc.) is lame.

I did it in an ss camaro. It was a challenge when I came to the last few races and was down on power. I probably still had more than the other guys, but the ss is heavy as hell. I was put up against the rx7 and rx7 rz. I remember that the rz pitted oddly so he would always pit on the last lap, one more time than me and the standard rx7. I cannot remember the tires I used, but I did have to start playing the conservation game to stay ahead in some races.

Other fast cars in this series are the z06, 350z, nsx and others. I never came up against the nsx. The z06 was very fast, but the retarded thing would pit after one or two laps. The 350z was using reasonable tires though, and it was much quicker than the ss.

I also found racing with the ss fun. You had to be a skilled driver, and be easy on the throttle. I could barely gain on the rx7s on the straights, so to get ahead I had to "connect the straights" perfectly. I also think starting at probably race 4 I started not qualifying, starting from the back. This turned out to be a mistake when at race 8-9 I experienced the oil going bad.

Polyphony Digital Cup. It's a 10-race series on all reverse courses toward the end of Pro league.

I used the FD RX-7 RZ that you win. I won all but one race (R-11) and found it pretty challenging. From memory I think I was using the super hard tyres. The GT-One Road would be the easiest but it's more fun with a bit of a challenge.

Bloody hell!

I was going to do it in my Tommikaira ZZ-S, but now I think I might just try it in somethings slower. :D

Last time around I used an RX-7 RZ with superhards, which was stupid because my tyres started being competitive at the end of the race.

I really do like the PD Cup, it's the second most challenging cup race in GT3, after the F1 Championship. And yes, the GT-One TS020 Road Car is an excellent stock car to use, not to mention the tires :O

Isn't a race technically only as hard as you make it? ;)

Because you could make even the beginner league races hard, by using a stock Mini Cooper (note, i haven't tried it)

using:

F1 = really easy, no fun [unless yu ram the cars into the pit stops :)]

stock car = challenging, can keep adrenaline running for a while

underpower car = good luck :D

Pagani Zonda C12S with Mediu-Slick tires. Speed 12 wont work. It come with modifications already installed. You can't have them at all.

I've just merged the TS020: "what car is best for PD cup" thread to this thread.

Better merge than close, right?

Good, enjoy the discussion.

And my say... if you want good, fun competition that leaves a little room for over kill... run the RUF RGT. :trouble:

It's the best true road car in the game.
Which reminds me of an old thread of mine that I may bring back.

Anyway, :D
Later.

I'm currently running the PD Cup in a Subaru 22B on T2 tires, and pitting on lap 10 of each race. It's plenty of car to beat the 350Z without qualifying, except at Seattle. It could possibly win at Seattle if I had bought soft tires to qualify with, and then switched to the T2s for the race, but I didn't. But fighting my way up from the back of the pack, and getting blocked and wall-stuffed by the AI, let the Z get enough lead on me that I was about 10 seconds down by the finish.

Everywhere else I'm creaming the 350Z with no problem. There's no need to bring a bazooka to this pistol match.

I think I won this race with the TVR Tuscan... a long time ago though... I remember that I had to buy another one cos my previous one was too modded for it!!

C.

I entered the 400R Skyline in it, Famine. A bit of overkill, with the 4WD, great grip, and shed loads of power.
