PD listens!

Yesterday, I downloaded the 2.02 update and to my surprise, I noticed that they implemented an option to disable the suggested gear light!

This was something that I had been bothered by and I know others were too (I made a thread and a feedback topic about it while back https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=200513)

I always loved the flashing light. It is quite helpful for me.

That's very good. So leave it on. See, options are great!

My eyes lit up like little kid at Christmas when I first heard about this. Will be shut off as soon as my game is back on, never to return unless to help out a guest. Been waiting for this for years. Damn I hate that thing,

Same here! I am definitely going to get on again once Im out of my cousins house with no GT5 :grumpy:

They gave a lot of things I asked about in begin November.
 
I am too one that didn't like the flashing gear indicator (is the HUD a driving aid?) and I am glade you have the option to turn it off now.

How can you turn it off? Im not at home right now to check my GT5 game or to even update it yet. Im just so excited to just play without that gear indicator right now once i get home.

You can change it either from global/gt life options, or you can turn each item on and off from the pause menu as well. The stuff at the top is still one big block and I think the rest of the stuff at the bottom are tied together as well. You can lose the driver list by itself as well as the "flashing brake marker" and of course the map.

And IMO that part of the HUD is obviously an aid... the map is debatable... there is a thread about that question here somewhere. I think it's actually called "Is the HUD a driving aid?"

They do listen, but cannot do everything we want all the time. Just take a look back over the last year and see the changes.
 
The little things I've commented on since I joined this great site about a year ago:

Hope for Logitech G25 Support, Hope for better brakes with ABS @ 0, hope for DLC, Hope for more immersion...

ALL CAME TRUE !!! PD , you're the best, anything else from now on is icing on the cake and you can have it too.

CANNOT WAIT FOR PS4 / GT6!!! (<= may this come true, late 2013 :D)
 
I think PD do listen to us, after all the latest blog post said "User suggested improvements".
