Good afternoon all,

A little history;

I've been playing GT5 since day 1 release, owned and extensively played all GT titles since PS1 days. I have a lot of experience with Motorcycle racing(road), Motorcycle tuning and building and know quite a bit about engine tuning and suspension dynamics. Hopefully I can translate at least some of this experience into offering you some solid tunes of GT5 cars.

Personal Profile:

  • Car Specialty: FR and MR engined. Usually Italian, German or British.

  • Tyre type: Racing: Soft
I always tune and test on racing soft, expensive yes but it allows me to get a better feel for the car and it's handling and subtle changes to suspension, directly, rather than wrestling with cheaper compounds whilst trying to notice subtle changes. This means despite your tyre choice you should always have a well balanced, drivable car.

  • Test track: Deep Forest
Deep Forest has it all, a good straight, some tight corners, awkward cambers and a couple uphill sections. The surface is also quite bumpy. I tune and road test all cars on this track, the cars are setup specifically for this kind of tight and varied circuit track as which translates to them being exceptional performers on tracks such as Nurburgring, Trial mountain, Elgar Nordwind, and so one.

  • Driving Aids/Settings (Same for ALL tunes): AT Automatic; Driving Line: On (whilst tuning & Testing) ABS 1, Steering sensivity 0 ALL other aids OFF
I use driving line and the AUTO transmission to aid in consistency with the testing phase of tuning, same breaking points, same turn ins - so you know the tune you are trying is different because it's different not because you took the same corner at a different angle, consistency is the key.

  • Type of tune: Drive-ability
Rather than all out race machines with high RPM output I concentrate on making a really well balanced drivable car, paying specific attention to handling and mid range engine output. In that order. Expect the cars to be in the region of 450 to 580 PP

  • Control type used: Dual Shock
Play with a dual shock, have only ever played with a dual shock, cars will be tune and ran with this as the main controller. This will likely mean anyone with a wheel with enjoy an increased benefit with my tunes

On to the tuning!

I have a few but am only posting ones I am entirely satisfied to share publicly because of extensive time spent setting it up and road testing it.

Jaguar XKR Coupe '10

Max Power: 567 BHP
Weight: 1375 Kg
Performance Points: 562

Great car but initially very heavy and handling suffers. Pokey engine but due to weight it loses out to it's German and italian rivals. This is quite a modest tune and leaves you plenty of scope to add power if needed for higher power competition.

This is built with Deep Forest raceway in mind, if looking at using it on tracks with longer straights you will need to alter 'Max Speed' to suit.

This has close box ratios for gears 2,3,4 which are most used on tight circuit tracks such as Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, keeps it right in the band on ready to punch out of corners.

Sounds good. I'm a drivability tuner too for the most part as well. Good luck with your garage. ;)

Looks good. Welcome to the jungle :). Starting a garage is fun, but remember you are your best customer. Good luck.
