This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2025 Gran Turismo Trophy Won By 1931 Invicta S Type

A rare vehicle from a British marque never before seen in the Gran Turismo series has been selected by the game’s creator Kazunori Yamauchi to win this year’s Gran Turismo Trophy at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and with it a potential future appearance in the game...

The stance of this car is so appealing, it sits lower than the S-Barker Tourer and is appropriately tighter in its shape from the wheel arches to the main body. If it's powerful as one, it'll be a fun vehicle to play with. Amongst the Pebble Beach GT Award cars that won and made it to the game so far, the S-Barker Tourer is my all time favourite, beating the Alfa TZ3 and the baby blue Ferrari.

Having slept on it, I think I like the pick, and getting stuff like this that would otherwise never come to mind feels like a good use of the Pebble Beach slot.

The 1920s and 1930s were vastly different than the relative homogeneity of post-war manufacturers; I think if you're going to cover that time period, a proper representation needs these old, cloudy names rather than just efforts from the modern manufacturers you are already licensing.

I am very glad Mr. Yamauchi chose another pre-war car, we need more of these in Gran Turismo! As for the licensing, I wonder if this angle is also considered during judgment.

And, since it is timed like this, it would be nice for the new game update to bring not only Chevrolet concepts, but also some past Concours winner!

I really wanted that Bugatti Type 101 to win the GT Trophy, but I ain't complaining. The S Type is awesome, and we do need more cars like this in Gran Turismo (the Barker Tourer is a bit lonely).

That is, if we do get the Invicta in Gran Turismo eventually.... :boggled:

Could it be possible to have here, or in the news post itself, which of the winners are in Gran Turismo?

Yes, I love these kinds of cars.

I watched a bit of the show, and wow, there are so many beautiful cars!

I hope we don't have to wait too long to see some of the older winners...

We need the 2015 and 2018 onwards winners. 2016 is practically the same P4 we already have so no need for that one. Would love the 2021 512 S and the 2024 Lancia Stratos added ASAP.

The Stratos HF Zero I think is my most wanted of all them, what a design have.

I am afraid the plan could be to save these newer ones like Stratos as poster cars for next GT installment. But it would be really great if they added at least some of these cars in the August update.

My personal favourite is 2019 Alfa 8C, a bit similar to Invicta, but as a racecar it is even lower, sexier and eqipped with straight 8.

GT8 or GT9 and 20M. 😁
I sure hope it's not priced that high! For reference, there's an 1930 Invicta 4.5 S-type low chassis for sale now for ~£270,000; convert that to something between USD and Yen/100, add pretty concours tax, let's say it's 750,000 to 1,000,000Cr., assuming it doesn't massively appreciate in the next three to eleven years.

Indeed. It has been way too long.
