Do you think that applying penalties after the incident has happened would be better?

I mean, I'm pissed of playing the S and getting a "ram penalty" of 4 seconds just for a slight contact when going side by side. I think it'd be better that the penalty time would be issued after 2 seconds (in example) and depending on the position of the 'harmed' player (if you've sent him to the gravel then give me a 10 seconds penalty if you want, or even better, penalty until he overtakes you), but don't give me a 4.5 seconds one if we're still side by side!

i agree...although this makes some people better in overtaking and handling the cars, beceause you just have to!!....hpoefully more and more people will drive more clean beceause of this....
but its anoing,thats for sure!
spyrrari.

While I find the penalties annoying I think their a good thing, they force you to race cleanly. The thing that really ticks me off though is cars turning into me and me getting the penalty for it, its something they need to fix. If a cpu car drives into me, they should get the penalty.

I'm fed up with getting penalties for the AI hitting me. Several times today I've been hit mid corner by AI cars trying to come past me that I've already overtaken and I end up getting the penalties.

the penaltys need to be if you gain an advantage from hitting someone a 3s is given.

I know from my own experience of racing you can tell the difference between whats a deliberate bump and one thats "to let you know he's there" Sadly thats somit that in online racing thats all set is very difficult to do.

Side to side penalties are pointless!! Maybe yes they work of you along side someone and they move over to force you off the track then a penalty should be applied but it can be very difficult to drive side by side with out a wee touch here and there
