Penny Arcade set up a toy drive this year. They called it Child's Play and have had quite a turn out.

Jordan - I was thinking maybe next year (or this year if you think you'd be able) you could set up something through GT Planet's Amazon account to provide toys, books, general gifts for those less fortunate. And the change you make from Amazon could help pay for GTP's server costs. It's something to think about.

And in the mean time, if anyone is feeling giving this season I suggest reading up about Child's Play and helping out where you can.

Saw it the first time ;)

I can't believe people as cool as the PA guys are actually GOOD guys as well... I wish I knew then what I know now and I would joined one of their Lan Parties when we where in Seattle.....

Yea, because cool guys have to be evil bastards. That flip off kittens and punch babies.

But the baby was being kind of a dick...

Sounds like a good idea to me.

To the little girl or boy who wanted the book of Japanese children stories... you're getting it!

64,000 dollars worth of toys and cash donations! I need to write that out again…64,000 dollars worth of toys and cash donations!

Michael Thomas, the PA reader who helped us add up all the toys purchased as of late last night also had this very nice quote at the end of his message to us:

Now I understand what all of the anti-videogame people ment when they said children raised on games would grow up abnormal. They were right, we'd all grow up with really big hearts.

I can’t add anything to that. You guys are doing an incredible thing. Pat yourselves on the back.

DAY-YAM! That's pretty cool. If you average everyone at $20 a head, that's 3,200 people buying gifts for kids. And I think $20 might be high as an average.

Child's Play is on again this year. They have five hospitals to gift. If you have a spare few bucks you should concider improving the image of the gamer community. This is a great charity for the wee-ones, and a super image booster for all gamer-kind.
