A gripe, if you'll allow it. This is not intended to be funny. Just thought I'd vent.
... so sayeth the Gabe. That's interesting, Gabe, because the game has been out all of five days. You're really trooper! Five days ... wow, man, that's a lot to talk about.
My issue isn't his UT experience, or the way he makes it sound like he's been playing the hell out of the game and knows all the ins and outs and is now a master or what-have-you, but that he does this all the time.
"Dudes, I've been playing the mess out of this new game and it's bad ass. You guys should check it out. Oh, I've had it for about 3 hours, but I know it's bad ass!"
Right. And you're how old, 14 is it?
For nearly the first year Halo was out they trashed talked it to oblivion. Then for a few months it seemed they couldn't get enough of it. And now, not a peep. I have friends that have played hours every week since it was released. Now who's the hardcore gamer, motha-scratch?
And we, at GTPlanet, who do incredible things like 225 lap endurance races ... we log more time in a day on our games than they do in a week.
I find Gabe and Tycho very ... "childish" in their new-game addiction. They seem to have fidgits waiting on a game to release, counting days until release, cursing the producer if it's a day late, then bludgening themselves to death with sloppy games requiring hundreds of megabytes of patching. Then talk about it as if they are the god of that particular game and nothing else in the world matters. But ***** and moan about it not being as good as they'd hoped and why couldn't the developer release a quality game from the start. S-O-B! Get over yourself.
I'm ranting again. I should stop.
They should grow up and learn patience.
I love UT2K4 but chances are you will never see me online. I play pretty much every day ... {snip}
