People CHEATING their way to the podium...

Just had an online race on the High Speed Ring in my Tuscan and I came across a Ren/Sport Clio and a GT-R zooming past everyone whilst we were all in the rolling start doing slow speeds.

Later on, the same GT-R was sitting in the middle of the track, however was half transparent (ghost). We all know you can drive through ghosts, but when I went into him, he was solid, but still semi-transparent. I went flying and got a contact penalty. I have the two gamertags, but cant release them publicly.

Has anybody ever experienced anything like this before? Your replies are welcome...
 
What you were experiencing was connection problems, either the host or the "guilty cars" themselves.
No-one one can influence what a car does until the "start" comes up, and the hooter sounds. So no-one can cheat in the manner you've described.
Fortunately it is quite infrequent. 👍

The Duke of Pendle is correct, this seems to happen on High Speed Ring the most, I wonder why? Regarding the car you hit that was ghosted, he probably got disconnected, as cars that are disconnected sometimes sit on the track for a while and while they look like a ghost you can still hit them, it's best to try to avoid any other car ( even ghosts ) that way you won't get a penalty like that again or be taken out.

You guys wanting to know why he won't release the names are probably the same ones who would then tell him not to post people's names in this thread as it will start up another thread bashing bad drivers. :sly: I think that's why he won't do it and anyway it's already been explained they weren't cheating.

The words "can't release them publicly" suggest something far more serious :lol:
Like they are part of some secret organisation that will kill him if he tells.
 
Maybe he's used the wrong wording but I read that as "I use 2 gamertags but can't tell you what they are"

There was a 'the' used for a reason ;) If he hadn't used the words "the 2 gamertags" then you would have a point.

Yes he means the tags of the Clio and the GT-R, the cars he thought were cheating. He says he can't release the names as he thinks he is not allowed to name and shame on the forums and doesn't want to risk to possibility of being banned.

Not true Duke.....i have had the ame thing happen to me on Suzuka. I thinkk i may have done it myself without realising what i had done. I think that if you were to sit in the middle of the track on the same lap as everyone else and press pause then your'e car will turn into to a ghost. But if you then press the start button again before another player goes through you you will then be solid again.

The biggest connection problem is see is when i a car losing it on any corner on Suzuka and goes off into the Sand Traps and then suddenly as if by Magic they are back on track without any time lost. Be sure to stay away from those driver's as they could easily knock you off the track and they may not know anything about it.

I think that's just one of the things that crop up in online racing. No-ones fault but annoying all the same. Alot of the drivers I come across who have that happen to them usually lose connection and disappear anyway :)
