Some of the issues people are experiencing are due to the nature of the peer to peer network - whether it is due to speed, latency or NAT3, one bad connection can mess up the experience for a whole room.

I have found that if the host has a good connection (NAT2) and uses the FIXED HOST option, one bad connection will not bring the room down and everyone will have a much more stable experience.

By all means, try it out and I think you will see a reduction (though not complete elimination) of issues.

The only downside is, if the host leaves the room closes.. but really, it's not that big a deal.

I think this issue already exist since beginning of GT5.

And NAT3 indeed will hurt the room

All I can say is try the quality fixed host rooms or host some yourselves. I think you will find an improvement. I've been joining FH rooms the past 2 weeks and see much less issues than non-fixed.

this thread explains the differences and you can see how a fixed host room would be more stable provided the host has a good connection.

Good read, I found that I fill my lounge to 16 and its a nightmare so we all switch to a public lobby (set to 16) I click fixed host and it improves the lag but only 14 people can get in!!! I give up :(
