I have been a GT fanatic since the original game and much like all of you i'm a avid GT players. I have played so varieties of different cars on different tracks with different settings...but one race I did a couple nights ago was so very different. With GT5 it is much the same and business as usual when it comes to picking a car for a race or track. I have completed all A-Spec races with the exception of the "24 Hours of Nürburgring ", which I am currently revisiting several past races to earn my 40 A-spec points just to enter this endurance race. During this long and tedious task, I was beginning to feel monotonous and bored with repetitive races...a feeling I'm sure all of us have felt at some point or another began to come over me. Then suddenly I stumbled onto something that would resurrect my interest and love for the game again...I entered the "Nürburgring 4-Hour Endurance" with my Pagani Zonda R09', which coincidently is the same car that recently set the new unofficial track record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 6m 47s. This blissful 15.76 mile track was the most amazing 246 minutes I've experienced in a very long time on GT. It literally felt like this cars was perfectly made for this cleverly difficult track! Now to make this a bit more interesting, I did lower the 814HP (with stage 3 engine tuning) to 407HP and added 50kg of weight with the ballast position set at center...this SLIGHTLY helped to make the race a little more competitive. So if you're looking to break the monotony and have some comfortable racing fun that will bring back excitement and possibly the adrenalized feeling again of a good race on a amazing track with a perfect car, jump in your Zonda R 09' and enter the "Nürburgring 4-Hour Endurance" race!

Now I'm sure I'm not the only one that has a favorite car with a favorite track, so if you could please leave some suggestions of what car on what track to try out. Below is the tuning to the Zonda R 09' that I used...but I must warn you, I race with my car's settings a little funky but a lot of fun:

TIRES:racing MED-front/back

BRAKES: 4-front / 6-back

SUSPENSION: Wheel Alignment: camber: 0-front / .8-back
tow angle: 0-front / .2-back

Suspension: height: -20 front & back

DRIVETRAIN: Differential: initial: 10
acceleration: 40
deceleration: 20

TRANSMISSION: Kept all gears the same but changed "Top Speed" to 224

TURBO: Stock

EXHAUST: Stock

INTAKE SYSTME: Stock

ENGINE: Stage 3 Engine Tuning
Power Limiter: power level: 50%

BODY/CHASSIS: Added Chassis Reinforcement
Aerodynamics: front: 30 / rear: 65
Weight Adjustment: ballast amount: 50kg
ballast position: 0

HP=407
PP=574
KG=1120

Pretty cool setup. But a post like this would be better appreciated in the tuning section :)

Anyway, I like using the rx7, 240/180sx, pretty much any 90s Japanese sports car on Tsukuba. Lots of fun.

I love taking the Zonda R around the ring. Though mine is maxed out with a blueshift tune (highly recommended).

The car handles great and really hugs the track even with 956 hp so I'm intrigued by the idea of lowering the power. It could be a lot of fun!

Thanks for the idea.

90's Japanese on Tsukuba is a excellent suggestion SpartanG! Is there one particular 90's Japanese car you love most on that track? Also thanks for the advice on posting in the tuning section...you think I should also post this in that section or is it a "no no" to double thread? It's been a while since I've been on here so I'm a little rusty on the DOs and don't...sorry

No problem on the idea John...it was just one of those things that I enjoyed so much that I felt the need to let everyone know. And definitely try out this tuning...now I know my tuning is very irregular, so if you did want to try this out, tune the suspension, drive train, ect. the way you like it tuned then decrease your power to 50% and add about 50kg of weight...but be sure the weight is centered or at 0. By the way, and this may be a stupid question, but what exactly is "Blueshift Tune" and how do you go about getting it?

My choice would be a 220hp, 556kg Caterham Seven Fireblade around the Nordschleife. Not only is the fireblade my car of choice for the British seasonals, the long stretches and sweeping turns of the course helps you to experience the 10,000+ rpm abilities of the car :)

There's a whole thread dedicated to this race as many of us feel it is the most enjoyable event in the whole game. Check it out here. You can copy and paste it to a post there if you have some more info on the times and competitors and such.
I think using the Zonda is over doing it slightly, but as you said, it is great fun and probably the best way to get to level 40 while still enjoying the game.

Not sure how this would stack up against the LMS or GT1 turbo, give it a try and post a report! (If not, I'll do it!!!)
