I've heard alot about this "permanent borrow" glitch that people seem to be using to copy cars from other players, but the part that makes me easy is the whole deleting and re-patching the game, is there any risk to the save file by doing this? :nervous:

Has anyone lost their save or corrupted anything by doing this?

Be legit, play the game right and don't get free cars! Unless you want to trade an untradeable car, in which case, delete it after they borrow it to be legit!

That why they say to back up your game save just in case something happens. But I never heard of anyone having corrupt save after it. I never did it the glich , I feel it a waste of time.

Just another way to cheat the game. Why don't you actually play the game and earn the car then you won't have to worry about it. Thats whats wrong with most of the younger people in todays society. Whether it be a simple game or in real life, too lazy to actually work for and earn something the legit way, so the cheat or steal to get it. Man up people.

I wish someone would answer this man's question instead coming in here with this holier than thou attitude.

If you copy your GT5 save file from the PS3 to a USB thumbdrive, you will have no problems at all with the save file being at any risk. To the best of my knowledge the borrow glitch has no effect on the saved game file saved on your hard drive, so saving it to the thumbdrive is really just an extra precaution. Hope this helps.

Yeah, man, thanks.:)

I've heard your DLC might get problems, but other then that and a long time waiting, nothing can go wrong when you back-up (a good file).

Don't worry about your status, there's nothing wrong with it.

+1. He's entitled to play the game however he likes, and I can think of plenty of reasons other than just 'being lazy' why he might want to try the glitch.

Agree...as far as I'm concerned, each to their own. You 've paid your money and it's up to you as to how you play your game. I played the game hard to win and buy/ trade legitimately every car in the game. Once I had every car, I enjoyed the game, but then wanted different versions of particular models...particularly the 'rarer' ones. So I tried the glitch.

Suffice to say, there was no risk if you backed up your game save to USB or flashdrive. Any DLC such as chromeline/ stealth etc... needs to be reloaded, but otherwise the only notable 'issue' was the removal of thumbnails. This was a pain if you had as many cars as I do and you want to see them all. However, the latest updates has remedied this.

Hope this helps. :)👍

How does this glitch work, and does it allow you to aquire cars such as stealth models? I'm not much for cheating but if it means getting cars like the Stealth Mclaren F1, I have no problem with doing it. I have no other way of getting the car.

Unfortunately it can't be used on any DLC cars (Chromelines, Stealth Cars, Edge Camaro, etc.) Here is a link to the thread about how to do it: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=217155

Well I'm damn happy to hear about this glitch. A while back, I wasted good money buying an Enzo for a friend, only to find out that PD had yet another terrible idea about how to keep people from lovely cars.

Granted there was a car duping issue, but surely they could've come up with a more elegant solution, as what they have implemented is reminiscent of Sony's removal of PS2 backwards compatibility.

I think the only risk is your save file corrupting due to the 2500kb file limit that was fixed in 1.04-1.05(Not entirely sure). That is why you backup your save data before you reload in GT5 1.0.

Ask Robbo6

Oh wait, you can't

Your 'friend' could have done a few races and bought his / her own.

PD added the cap so people would play for the cars. If we could all have all of the cars through trading, no one would play for the $$££'s
