Personal website "do-over"

It's been something like four years since I've done anything major to my website. I figure it's time for a redesign.

So what do you think of this idea? The example is in the gallery but I would probably use the scheme for the whole site.

Yeah, I was FRICKEN BORED at work, so I made an annoying flashing thing. Stuff that moves on websites is bad, mmmkay? (: Basically it was a joke on myself.

I'm going to have to brush up on my html ... simple things just aren't coming to me. I believe it was W3Schools that I last used for a referance book. I suggest it for anyone else who's interested in simple html coding.

I super-duper-highly-recommend that you get Elizabeth Castro's HTML for the World Wide Web with XHTML and CSS... superb reference book, and it was just released this year, so it's quite up to date. In fact, I believe it contains every XHTML 1.0, CSS 1, and CSS 2 specification (which is only slightly off of what's available today: XHTML 1.1 and the work-in-progress CSS 3). Wow, I probably said more in those two sentences than you cared to read. But anyway, good book. And it has a handy dandy reference table in the back.
