Now Porsches are all write!

Forget personalised number plates - how about a personalised Porsche?

Owners of any of the brand's models can now give their car an exclusive new look with a unique name badge.

Made by Dutch company NameYourPorsche, the lettering replaces the existing Carrera, Cayman or Cayenne badge with a name of the customer's choice - whether it be their own, a partner's or even one they've given to the car.

But buyers don't have to be limited to names. A little imagin*ation could see the boot emblazoned with 'Back Off', 'Follow Me' or, in the case of the 911, 'Luggage Other End' across it.

The finished article doesn't come cheap, but that's because it's hand-cut from aluminium, uses the original Porsche font and is available in black, grey, chrome or gold. Prices start at 375 Euros (£255) for five letters, and rise by 75 Euros (£50) per letter after that. Visit www.nameyourporsche.com for details.

Pretty cool idea. I can imagine some interesting names being made up...

As if most Porsche owners need another reason for people to despise them.

Ahhh... The stuff of dreams.

Lets see...

Step One: Hit Lottery
Step Two: Buy Porshce GT3
Step Three: Have "Der Alta" on the back end.

*Wakes up*

Celtic player, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was going to do that but he couldn't afford it. He'd also need an extra wide Cayenne for it to fit.

The price is for five letters and up. Why? - you can usually name a Porsche owner using only 4 :sly:

This thread is mighty ironic given that the only person I know that actually owns a Porsche just had a big accident in it yesterday in Frankfurt and it's a write-off - and it's his birthday today too... :guilty: Luckily he wasn't hurt, although I think his wife probably saw to that :scared:

If you're name is Richard, perhaps... it would be better than 'Dick'... :sly:

Seems to me a not too manly thing to do. I could see a lot of girls doing this. I'd take pride in the fact that I have a porsche and not mess around with silly badging. A prosche is a porsche, not Mark. Maybe, just maybe, Ferdinand could be tolerated, but only as a tribute to Dr. Porsche.

I always wanted my OMG, LOL, WTF, and HARBL porsches.

Hmm I've always wanted to have a 997 Turbo "ROFLCOPTER" edition....

Do they only do letters and numbers? 8===D would be interesting.

Serious: $600 to get YSSMAN on the back of my imaginary 911 Carrera S? I'll get the extra "little touches" to make my car special. If I really want to nickname my car, I'll buy a vanity plate from the Secretary of State.

Not serious:

I was thinking the exact same thing...

I saw "Bruce" and thought:

Is this for the same people whose mothers still put their name on their underwear?
Yeah.

Like you're ever going to lose your Cayenne in a car park...

Nah. You want one that says 'Type-R' or 'Nismo', then everyone will appreciate how fast it really is.

Pwn@g3!!1! :D

Seriously, though, I wonder if "College Fund" would fit... ;)
