It would be so nice to have this thing back in the new Gran Turismo... It sounds like an F1 car with that V10.

Go to 10:13 and close your eyes. :D

That's because it essentially is an F1 engine - the 3.5-litre rules were specifically introduced to allow manufacturers to build engines and use them for both Group C and F1, to improve manufacturer participation in both series. Peugeot focused on the 905 first, then for 1994 delivered revised 905 engines to McLaren instead. Unfortunately, at F1 power levels the reliability was shocking and McLaren dropped them by the end of the season. However, after the reduction to 3.0 litres in 1995, Peugeot sorted out most of the issues and the engine was used by various teams all the way up to the end of the 2002 season.

The same idea of a cross-series engine formula was brought back around 2009, for a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo to be used in WRC rallying, WTCC touring cars, and F1. The WRC and WTCC shared engine was used from 2011, however F1's engine suppliers rejected the four-cylinder layout in favour of a V6, which was delayed all the way until the 2014 season.
